Perhaps they send the dross to Spain @floralies! I don’t mind receiving a plug plant if that’s what I ordered, but not one shoved into a 9cm pot and charged €6 for 😡
Nollie I live in Spain too, in Madrid's community. It's farther than Girona, they probably take a day longer than to get to you.
I have ordered nectarines, roses and herbaceous perennials from PdesF and been impressed with the speed of delivery and packaging.
However, I also ordered a lot of assorted "Bishop of" dahlias and none of them grew. They did offer a full refund tho.
Pleased that Leaderprice are good tho as they're a lot nearer to me - near Nantes as opposed to oop north near Lille - so plants will be better acclimatised if and when I visit or place an order.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Hello, @Ruth S. Sainz, nice to hear from you. I did choose, and pay for, 9cm plants - but they had placed small, under-developed mini mottes in the 9cm pots which they hadn’t grown into. The time it takes for delivery is not a problem if you order early in the season, it was more they over-promised and under-delivered, both in quantity and quality. The rose was very small, severely root and cane pruned, but healthy enough and I expect it will grow fine.
I have been very impressed with my orders from Roses Loubert, excellent quality, well-branched, healthy bare root roses and cheaper than PdeF. But they are a specialist French rose nursery, mostly old roses. I highly recommend them. For both modern and old roses, tuincentrumlottum in the Netherlands are excellent quality for the price, at around €5-8 euros each.
@Obelixx, yes the shrubs and trees I have got from PdeF were perfectly good. I might consider ordering those from them again, just not perennials. Be interested to hear what you think if you do order from Leaderplant, let us know. I have UK/northern France type of weather at this time of year, I used to get superb quality perennials from Le Clos d’Armoise in Brittany, now sadly closed.
I’m sorted for seeds this year, I ordered from the UK, pre brexit, but will refer to all your recommendations for those next year.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
@Nollie I received my Minimottes from PdeF yesterday all very healthy, now potted up in the G/H and tucked under fleece as they have arrived earlier than expected. It's strange that you always seem to get the duff plants!
It is odd, @floralies, it’s like we are talking about a different nursery! They responded to my complaint to say they will refund me for the other missing plant, but no apology or offer of redress for the really rubbish mini mottes disguised as 9cm plants. I really hate that they use those teabags too, they never break down, at least in my soil.

Found another interesting seed site after searching for Aztec Sweet (Lippia Dulcis) seeds. It includes some interesting chillies, herbs, fruits and ornamentals.
The controls will also work the other way and imports from Europe can be controlled. Allegedly the EU stopped the UK from banning the importation of ash trees despite the knowledge about ash die back.
I’ve looked this up. Apparently the disease was believed to be in Britain already, and then to have been blown in by the wind from Belgium and France. So the government at the time hoped to avoid a showdown with the horticulture industry by introducing a ban (which would anyway have been pointless because there was airborne transmission from the continent and banning imports had no effect). However, it made a nice anti-EU story for the Daily Mail.
