We've been to the recycling centre this morning, think it's the last time. I've been cleaning and clearing the room where 1st OH had his model railway. He called it a layout, it was huge, 6 trains could run at the same time, signals, station, a village, mountains (made by me). The children have taken all they want and what was left was a mess.
The couple who helped to load the skip are coming on Monday to help clean up. The removal men will be here on Monday, packing boxes.
The beginning of a new start for me, new house, new town. But OH has his house which he loves in Norfolk, we want to be there too, travelling is hard now, Covid, Brexit, unecological.
I hope 2021 will be a much better year now that the vaccine has arrived. Big thanks to all those who worked on the vaccines.

It’s going to be a momentous time for you @Busy-Lizzie ... in so many ways ... but it’s also an adventure, and the opportunity for an adventure doesn’t gone often these days, so ‘seize the day’, enjoy ... and keep updating us ... we’ll share your adventure even if it’s vicariously 😂

Thanks @Dovefromabove, but I'll probably bore you all stiff with my move! This is part of the model railway. Now it's been taken up and divided into four.

Oh @Busy-Lizzie, I feel for you, all this upheaval, necessary of course to be able to move on, but I can appreciate the stress of it all, it is exhausting both emotionally and physically I am sure. Nearly there now though, lots to look forward to, much better than looking back. Sending hugs.
I managed a really productive day in the garden yesterday, got such a lot done, (there is still more to do of course). I am trying to simplify the layout as well as regain control over things that have got completely out of control. I think I am virtually there with the chopping back and down, now it's time to dig over and replant, well not quite yet, but I have small plants and seeds (and ideas) all on standby.
I took a good look at it yesterday and although it is now nowhere near as interesting as it was before, with all the little 'rooms' and themed flowerbeds gone, it most certainly looks more manageable and actually lighter. The sun was shining yesterday and I am sure some plants haven't seen sun in years with all the tall hedging dividers, so we shall see what they make of that.
I have a plan to put a little bench under an Arbitzia tree that was in the middle of a heavily planted flowerbed, constantly needing weeding, now grassed over, and take time to sit there and read in the summer months to come....we'll see.
Today I have blanched a glut of carrots for the freezer and pickled some red cabbage. I now plan to finish off the Netflix series I am watching and enjoy a glass or two of Pecharment later in readiness for my Dry January. It's been a hard year, for everyone I realise too, but despite everything I believe I am in a better place this year. That's all we can hope for isn't it.
Happy New Year all, wishing you all health & happiness in the months to come.

Happy new year to all forkers and indeed all forum members-- and wishing you all a much better 2021 than your 2020 has been ( even if you happen to be one of that rare breed for whom 2020 was okay)
Thank you @D0rdogne_Damsel. Hugs gratefully accepted. I remember how you battled on courageously when you were setting up the tearoom. You must be talking about the house garden, not the tearoom garden. A few years ago we were both getting our gardens ready for opening with the newly started French NGS. Now yours is being simplified, mine looks rather neglected because of being in England in the first lockdown and losing interest because of selling the house. But the cottage in Norfolk garden has benefitted this year.
Finished the train room. It was a home cinema room for the previous owners over 30 years ago. Then it was my parents' bedroom when they came to stay before we built the extension.
