@Dovefromabove The Parisians are here too in their holiday home directly west of us - we can hear their children shrieking in the garden - and just 100 metres or so away from the ned of our plot but much further by road.   They did the same at Easter when it was verboten.  Now it's allowed but stupid.

SM raid done with no bovver this morning except for the lack of rye flour for some Xmassy bread and patisserie flour for my creole cake.   I measured out the butter and sugar and then found I only have assorted bread flours in my pantry so someone will have to do a raid on local shops to get the low gluten stuff tomorrow.

Good quiz @AuntyRach and power to your elbow for all the work you and your colleagues are doing.

  • We did our click & collect yesterday,  bit early but all we could get.  I did get to the plots to get the  veg ,see the Allotment thread if you want the gruesome details,  so spuds parsnips, beetroot & sprouts all delivered to children/ grandchildren, with some kept for us of course.

  • Evening all, hugs to all. especially @Allotment Boy GD.

I've made the best part of 300 mince pies today....need I say more

I am so happy to have loyal customers.

Where is 2021 going to find us? So  much hope pinned on a new year, I'm not so sure...

Anyway, good food and cake to come, we'll worry about all the other stuff later. :

  • Morning all,

Above post was from yesterday, but I must have missed the button.

Two more Christmas orders to get out today, a little annoying, they were all supposed to collect Tuesday or Wednesday, one man was 'busy', apparently invited friends over for Christmas drinks so couldn't come, and the other lady's car broke down. I did offer to deliver but she was miles away.

Anyway, I'll clean the kitchen up and put all the cake decorating stuff away whilst I am waiting and then that's it, I am closing for at least a week!

We are having a very quiet Christmas, but we have cake and mince pies and a little turkey crown so it will be all good. I have got some fun board games organised and we are going to enjoy a bit of TV time too.

So, whatever all of your plans are, tricky I know, especially hard if you are missing family time, I hope everyone finds some time to relax and indulge for a short while at least. Happy Christmas all.  :)

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Sounds like you deserve a rest @D0rdogne_Damsel 🤗. I do hope that everyone who needs to gets the chance to relax and enjoy Christmas, even if it’s not the one we’d have chosen. Some folk have lost loved ones this year and my heart goes out to them.

I made rough puff and sweet orange pastry for the sausage rolls and mince pies yesterday, but because the washing machine repair was happening I didn’t make them ... that’ll happen today along with cooking the gammon, making chocolate mousse and prepping tomorrow’s veg ... but that’s it ... we’ll be ready for Christmas 🎄 🎅

Hi all- I've been slightly absent, and haven't read back so I've no idea what's been going on with you all.
I just wanted to wish you all a Happy Christmas. Forget all the other billhooks that surrounds the 3 ring circus it's become. Stay safe - that's the most important thing. Ignore the idiots as much as possible.
Look after yourselves and all your families to the best of your ability, and let's hope next year will be better.
It certainly wouldn't be difficult for many people.
Love to all of you - new and old, and I'll see you next year  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • Lovely to see you @Fairygirl 🤗 wishing you and yours as merry a Christmas as possible xx🎄

And while we’re about it, Merry Christmas to Mr & Mrs @punkdoc, @Hostafan1 and @chicky ... fingers very crossed for a brighter 2021 🤞

Hello everyone,  like you @Fairygirl, I've been an infrequent visitor on here of late. The years fight and sadness has taken away my ability to look on any bright side.
Just going to keep my head down and try and get through it best I can.
Last day of work for a couple of days at least. Lost so much work so have to go when it comes up.
Have a good day all,  that pastry sounds delicious @Dovefromabove!

  • Hi everyone I  echo the Christmas wishes to you all.
I am a bit creaky this morning,  might have something to do with leaning over the wheelbarrow scrubbing mud off parsnips yesterday. 😆
