Because we took the Ute to Canberra instead of my sedan (we were expecting a huge storm), Hubby decided to take the Ute to town today to replace fuel.
So, instead of driving home by the main road, we came home by the back unsealed road for a change. We saw a killed roo on the road, so Hubby stopped to pull it off the road, and discovered a Joey in her pouch. It (I didn’t check the sex), was quite happy snuggling into Hubby’s old jacket on my lap. He called LAOKO to find out where we should take it and was told to take it into the pet shop in town. So, into town again. The Joey snuggled down in my lap and enjoyed having its chin scratched. I was quite disappointed to let it go, however I know it’ll be given care, whoever takes it.
I can’t understand people not checking pouches when they hit a roo. 😳😩
Yes Dove. I dread to think that the next vehicle would have probably continued to run over the dead mother and that would have been that for he/she. I think it was fate that we went that way instead of our usual route.

@Pat E what a find it was obviously meant to be.
Due to my increasing anger about all things COVID and some of the things that have been said to me, I have decided I need to take a few days break.
Wanted to wish everyone a safe Christmas and to thank you for your friendship during this very difficult year.
Things are not going to get better for a while, but kindness can make an enormous difference.
I would like to hope that some who have left us during the year: @Hostafan1 and @chicky in particular decide to come back.
