Have been to the ortho/osteo vet again with Bonzo who suffered another "crise" with his arthritic hips at lunchtime.  Both our dogs are getting old and on a daily doze of arthritis meds and when he had the first "crise" a couple of weeks ago he had injections and then daily meds of conventional stuff. This time he's moving to plant based meds for life, based on figwort, nettle and meadowsweet - all of which our regular vet takes himself to control arthritis. Might have a go for my stupid knee.
Hot now. It's been a mil day but damp so OH lit a fire to keep Bonzo warm when we got home.......
Well done @Biglad.  Always good to be paid in time for Xmas. For some historic reason, Belgians get a 13 month salary per annum with the 13th being paid at Xmas as a sort of bonus, or automatic savings plan, depending on how you look at it.  Handy tho. Â
Hello folks ... a lovely day seeing Wonky and her brother, and then my brother and his wife ... then I came home via a detour to Southwold Harbour to pick up some plaice fillets and skate wings for the freezer and two Dover soles for supper.Â
Now Iâm collapsed on the sofa ... Iâll read back and see what youâve all been up to ...Â

Hope meet ups went well, painful arm @AuntyRach seems pain worth the gain, I hope. The idea of children in the UK going hungry is so wrong when so many have so much.... I am getting fed up/astonished at how many people keep walking into Tearoom asking if we're open. đ± The rules/regulations are very clear, no restaurants are allowed to open. The door is open because I've got people collecting Christmas orders, but every 5 minutes people come in asking for plat du jour/ cake/ coffees. Really! One man has been in twice asking for a portion of chips! đ±

You need a big sign @D0rdogne_Damsel. Job for Charlie? Is the chip man British? Not aware of latest lockdown restrictions?  OH and I went to a bar in Vouvant a couple of years ago to get a drink before a concert in the church and he strolled up, 15 mins before closing time and asked for wine and a meal - in English.  Couldn't read the sign that said they closed at 8pm and was surprised when I explained. Â
Not expecting news from @Busy-Lizzie given she has so much going on this evening but hope it's all gone smoothly.
Glad you got to see folk @Dovefromabove even if you couldn't hug.
Well done @Biglad always liked getting paid just before Christmas but it did make January seem a long month.
Feeling a bit low at the moment. I'm very worried about First and Secondborn. They are both absolutely exhausted, the only thing keeping them going was the thought of a short break at Christmas. They appreciated that they would have to work though some of the Christmas holidays, they always do, but now with the way the government has informed schools they have to organise mass vacinations for all their pupils and staff it will mean they will have to work all through the holidays. At the moment Secondborn can hardly move her head, neck and upper back, think it's due to anxiety and stress.
Lots of good news re care home residents being able to see their relatives. I know it's selfish but I'm finding it upsetting that it came too late for mum. I can't help but feel that if she had not been isolated she would have still been with us.
Thereâs a lot of understandable anger about the new demands on teachers ... hopefully thereâll be some clarity on whoâs got to do what very soon. Meanwhile ((hugs)) @Yviestevie.Â

We went for a walk to see if we had any berries, since we havenât been down to that fence for ages. Hubby weighed them when we got back. 1.734 kg. đ. Ive put them in a large pot and added a few stalks of rhubarb, a small number of mulberries, and some blue berries. Not sure yet if I want jam or stewed berries.Â
