@AuntyRach presumably your colleagues are medically trained and know what they're doing. Teachers and most parents are not.  What if one that fails is a super spreader?
Happy Birthday to Mr Dove Yes, had consult with vet Obelixxwasn't sure whether to feed her or not. Apart from the upchucking, she is absolutely fine in herself, not in pain, going walkies, actint her normal self.chicken and fish little often meals, medication on empty stomach,
I'm so sorry to read about poorly pets and stressful personal situations. I'm not politically minded but from what I've heard about Boris and his crew they just don't seem to have a clue. I realize this covid19 is uncharted territory, but the dithering and then seemingly rash decisions taken really don't inspire any confidence in their leadership. What do I know?Â
Cakes orders have gone mad this last few days, not the Christmas cakes, I've closed orders on those now, but the cupcakes and mince pies and Afternoon Teas. I'm doing bacon and sausage sandwiches on Tuesday and Wednesday with Hot Chocolate & Mulled Wine. People are coming to collect their cakes those days some driving a long way to collect, so there's been a good uptake on that. After that though I'm stopping everything until at least early January, I need a break, it's been constant for weeks now, very hard on my own. Not sure when we'll get to open properly again but I'll be glad when we're back with a full team of support and customers coming in 'normally' again.Â
Happy birthday to Mr @Dovefromabove I hope Mr @Busy-Lizzie has arrived home safely too. Hope the dogs have settled @Obelixx & @Nanny Beach . @Biglad I think you'd be such a softie with a pet you daren't risk it. đ
Off to enjoy a well earned glass of đ· now before a very early start tomorrow. Goodnight all, probably good morning @Pat E .Â
Thought you might appreciate a pic of the sunrise this morning too, it was so lovely, I might not be seeing much daylight but the sun rises and sunsets have been amazing this week.Â

Lovely photo @Dordogne_Damsel. You must be getting absolutely exhausted by now so hope you get a good rest soon. We've just cancelled our Xmas visit to my son annd his family in view of the latest restrictions. Although we get there and back in a day, we think the roads will be totally gridlocked, so are resigned and very disappointed to be staying at home. A greater problem to us is how w my daughter is going to be able to travel home, she was planning on the 24th. She can't possibly stay in her house all alone over Xmas, her mental state is still quite fragile. I don't think the Government have thought this through very well so hopefully will issue more guidance asap.
Hello all. Meeting OH was somewhat traumatic. Google maps said the journey to the airport would take 1h55mins, but there were roadworks and loads of traffic crawling round Bordeaux. Also his plane got in at 9.21 am when it was due at 9.35am. I couldn't find the entrance to the short term car park and my new Smart phone kept ringing so I went to the 10 minute collect and drop off point but you aren't allowed out of the car. OH wasn't there because he decided to wait inside instead of outside where I expected him to be. I had to drive all around the airport again and found a car park, not the nearest, left the car and walked. Found him inside. At Bergerac you have to meet people outside, not allowed into arrivals. We had been frantically ringing each other but we didn't know that to answer a Smart phone you have to swipe and not tap the green phone symbol so we couldn't answer our phones!
Daughters came with their hire vans and collected furniture, house is looking a lot emptier.
Belated Happy Birthday to @Dovefromabove's OH, but I gather it's postponed until tomorrow, so I'm not late after all!Â
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
