    Have a lovely day, @WonkyWomble and @Dovefromabove.   :)

    Hello all.

Hubby's off today to see the man in the next county who's upgrading his model railway layout - it's the first day he's been able to travel out of the county for 6 weeks.  The "hobby room" in the bungalow extension has been ready for the railway since late Spring, but with lockdowns and illness of the railway builder, it hasn't yet arrived.  It's unlikely to be ready for Christmas, and this morning's news said that travel restrictions will probably be re-imposed on December 28th... I anticipate a morose man returning this evening.  It's particularly hard for him because all his conducting and singing opportunities are on hold as well, for the foreseeable future - and at his age, he's beginning to wonder whether he'll ever be able to get back to "normal".  Others have far more pressing problems, but telling him that isn't going to help...   :/

I feel a bit guilty that things are more rosy for me.  In addition to having my new sewing machine delivered yesterday, in the afternoon the apple trees I ordered also came, accompanied by a free crab apple because they had to substitute a different variety for one of the two I chose.  (The substitute is an Irish variety called Haddock's Favourite.  Won't forget that name...)  I'm just about to go and plant them.   :)

Edited to add:  Forgot to send birthday greetings to Mr @Dovefromabove and @Desi_in_London.  Many happy returns!  And best wishes to @Busy-Lizzie and your OH - hope you can relax for a bit now.

Thank you @Liriodendron :) it will be so nice to see @Dovefromaboveeven if fleeting and at a distance,  but best to be safe! Sorry to hear you have the prospect of a grumpy hubby but glad your day sounds like it's a good one! Extra tree is a real bonus!

Anyone else think that JR-M should be taken out and hanged outside parliament?

    Or something infinitely more sensitive?

Happy birthday to fellow Sags wherever you are.

Misty start again today but otherwise all was well until Bonzo dog did a false move and Boom, hips seized up again  and much crying so the orthopedic/osteopath vet will be seeing him at 6:30 which is really good of her.

@Liriodendron how big is the railway set?   Have fun with your trees.

Stay safe everyone.   Hugs to all with worries.
