Right, I’ve waved OH off to work, got his card out of its secret place and written an appropriate message and hidden it again. 🤫

It’s his birthday on Saturday (a big one 🥳) but as he has to work we’re celebrating it on Sunday. However I’m delivering pressies in a socially distanced drive around East Anglia tomorrow, so I’ll wrap his present today. 🤫

Hope you get your sugar @D0rdogne_Damsel ... I’ve got some golden caster sugar coming on Sunday if that’s any help? 😉

    Hi all

A vague hint of blue in the sky today, azure or cerulean it ain't, but it might be enough for me to attempt a hobble round the garden.

  • Hello all.

Glad you're able to hobble, at least, @punkdoc.  Hope it stays dry...

Just heard that the sewing machine I ordered in July has just arrived in the shop.  It'll feel like an extra Christmas present!   :)

Hope you found some sugar, @D0rdogne_Damsel - presumably your Christmas rush will soon be over, and you can get a well-earned rest...

Congrats on getting the vaccine, @AuntyRach .  Good news indeed.   :)

    Have a good day everyone.

  • @Liriodendron gosh must be a very special machine to take this long to arrive in the shop! @Dovefromabove -- my birthday this weekend as well so happy birthday to your fellow sagittarian OH from me. I'm just minded to shelve any celebrations/presents till next year anyway when I'm in the mood to enjoy them! ( but obviously will bake myself a cake :))
Everyone else -- have a lovely day

Many Happy Returns to you @Desi_in_London 🎉 It’s a busy time of year for us ... it’s my son’s birthday on Monday as well 🎈 Right on the cusp 😊

  • @Desi_in_London - not very special, but I wanted a "Brother" machine because a) my daughter and daughter-in-law have that make, though different models, and recommend them highly - and b), Brother is an ethical company, unusual in that industry.  Because I'm in Ireland and it was coming from England, it took a long time... first they promised early September, but I was afraid Brexit might make it fall down a black hole.  Fortunately not...

And... it's just been delivered, post haste from the shop in Limerick.  I'm a happy woman.   :)

Hello all, dull and cold here not even a glimmer of sun. Just been out to post a few local cards, very quiet everywhere. There are some very cheery Penstemons flowering outside the window and if we don't get a good frost they will stay that way all winter. I think the Amistads are still flowering, must have a look later.
Has anyone experience of goats milk soap helping with Psoriasis? My son son has developed this along with arthritis so I thought I may order him some for his birthday  at the beginning of January.
Have a good day all whatever you are up to.

    Afternoon.

Well I am being brave but my arm is murder post vaccine 😬 - all worth it though and I still feel lucky to have had one so soon.

Mixed weather here today. Have a good day all.

Afternoon all,  Happy sewing @Liriodendron .  I've been out and fed the birds and planted a few violas in pots this morning.  Got wet feet as my gardening cloggs have developed a leak.  I've put some Backdoor shoes on my Christmas list so keeping my fingers crossed.  Had a few deliveries today.  Goodies for me from Boots and a parcel of spanish food ordered for Firstborn's Hubby.  I think I now have all my Christmas presents so will need to get wrapping.  All my Christmas cards and been sent out so feeling a bit smug.
Having a shop delivered tomorrow from Morrisons so hoping that I get everything I've ordered.
Glad to hear you managed to get out and about @punkdoc

Ouch @AuntyRach .  I always now take a paracetamol before going for my flu jab and have had no, or very mild, reactions.  Had to have cholera and yellow fever jabs in my teens and those disabled my arm for days.

Mild here and relatively warm so SM raid done without a coat!  Got everything I needed except Moroccan mint tea and should just need to shop for fresh fruit and veg next week.  It'll be Xmas Eve and the shop will be heaving so may go on Wednesday instead.

OH wants to go and hit a few balls so we'll do a beach walk tomorrow as it's supposed to be sunny.

@D0rdogne_Damsel it would have been quicker to go to Leclerc!   Loads of sugar but still no wholemeal flour except strong stuff for bread.

Sorry @floralies - no personal experience of goat's milk soap for psoriasis.  When I had a bout of it 20 odd years ago it was treated with UV light sessions.   Have a look at turmeric supplements too.

@Dovefromabove hope he likes his card and his birthday too.
