  • Morning all, good news on your Brother @Dovefromabove . I haven't been sleeping as well as usual, I think it's partly due to a lack of activity.  This constant wet & grey means I'm not doing much in garden or plots.  Made a big batch of pumpkin soup for the family yesterday,  my wife took it & just left it on the doorstep,  then texted from the car. Waiting to see if anyone else has tested positive today. 🤒

Hope you have finished your breakfasts. 😳. Especially Fairy.
This is today’s photo of the fly traps. (Lucky you can’t smell them) 😩

They’re almost full.  I havent worked out where to empty them yet.

Crikey @Pat E what's the attraction?  Beer, sugar syrup, something noxious?

@Allotment Boy how very worrying, frustrating and cross-making that must be.   It seems they now want to test school children to see if they are silent carriers and spreaders.  Doh!  Round here they've been wearing masks in primary schools too, even out in the playground.

@Busy-Lizzie good that you managed a visit.   Did you take photos to remind you of each room?

@Dovefromabove good that Bro is feeling better. Hope it continues.

@AuntyRach enjoy your week off and @punkdoc you do know you need to move a bit and stretch your spine before it seizes completely!!  Hope th epain is less today.

Bright and sunny at the mo but not for long.  Heavy rain overnight, showers this morning and serious wet stuff heading in this pm, just in time for experts and builders.  Lovely.

Enjoy your day everyone, as best you can.

Xmas tree bought and erected. Had booked online for click and collect within a time slot but I wasn't on the list when I got there despite having two emails from them confirming order. However as they grow them themselves they had plenty of choice so I just went into the yard and chose one. Never seen their carpark so full on a weekday morning before but I was a week ahead of previous years this time.

    Hello all.

Yes, @Obelixx, I took more photos. I already had general ones, this time was to take photos of where radiators were and where to put furniture, that sort of thing.

    Phone line still isn't repaired.
I've been to the Orange shop and bought a Smartphone. I can do unlimited calls to Europe and the UK and unlimited Internet. Orange is a bit pricey but they give you a phone free if you take a more expensive subscription. I had a good chat with OH on it. I hope I can understand how to use it.

Ask one of the grandchildren when you can see them safely.

Insurance assessor and builder are here - loads of money and, cos the barns are over 20 years old we'll only get 50%.  Do we want to invest the other half for a pair of open barns?  Needs thinking about over Xmas I think.

    That sounds a rip-off @Obelixx
Do they only reckon the life span of a barn is only 20 years? I thought they were much older than that. I understand though that the French generally much prefer modern buildings or is that not the case?  Would it be cheaper to build from new?

It's good you've now got more photos @Busy-Lizzie, they are so handy when deciding where to put things and as reminders of the layout. I took lots before we moved in here as the place was empty so it was easy. I must confess that I even sneaked into the garden several times well before we signed contracts to take photos and make plans. Hope you get on okay with the smartphone, I found you need lots of patience and practice.

  • @Busy-Lizzie that all sounds positive ... and if I can work a smartphone then so can you. 👍

@Obelixx I hope you can reach a satisfactory conclusion. 😊

@punkdoc any chance of a nice warm bath? 🤗

Bro starts a course of immunotherapy next week 🤞
