  • Morning all and evening @Pat E. Supposed to be grey but dry in London ( from an earlier forecast of afternoon rain) so I might try scrubbing the patio for algae!. Otherwise I'm just waiting to see when the bare roots get delivered so I can hopefully give one in a little temporary pot to my mum -- she loves roses!

Morning Desi. We are in for a few days of very hot weather. Not looking forward to it.

  • Morning all - hello Pat!

Frosty and sunny here after a few wet and windy days.  There's mist rising off the lake in the distance and the birds are flocking to the sunflower hearts.   :)

    Morning all.

The kitchen phone isn't working properly, again. I've plugged the phone in the socket by the utility room, which isn't very near the kitchen, and it seems to work there. When it did this last time, it sometimes works, Orange told me the phone line is fine but I probably need an electrician. I didn't call one because it started working again, but now I have and he's coming on Monday.

I woke up too early this morning. Felt tired, couldn't sleep, watched TV in bed.

  • Good morning all  :) ☕☕☕

I was awake early with you @Busy-Lizzie ... but I did get back to sleep for a while.  Now the washing is churning in the machine and OH is shuffling things in the freezer ... there's a Sainsbug's delivery due between 9.30 and 10.30 this morning.  Then I've got to walk down to the post box.  Hope your electrician can sort the phone out .

Morning all. It's grey and drizzly here and I awoke with sharp pain in my hip and femur (probably as a result of the tulip planting I did yesterday). It's jolly painful so OH has gone down for the paper while I wait in for the bird seed delivery. I ordered 4 large sacks to last us over Christmas and through probable Brexit chaos early next year.
The red squirrel is cute @Fairygirl so hope it survives. I've only seen them in the wild on Brownsea Island at Poole. We've plenty of the grey ones here though.

Washing is on the line and I've been to the tip. Found more rubbish, including 3 broken chairs.

The north west highlands isn't particularly suited to reds @Lizzie27, because of the lack of suitable cover/habitat there, but hopefully they can keep that little colony going well enough. Further inland and south is better - Glen Lyon [Perthshire]  is a particularly good area. I see them quite often when out, if I go in that direction. They're always a delight   :)
Our dry day isn't terribly sunny, and we had a couple of showers earlier, but it's lovely to be mainly dry! I've even put washing out, although it's not likely to dry much. Always smells good though  :)
Dave has had his lunch, so I think I'll have mine.

Another bright and sunny day here so I'll be dragging Possum off round the lanes to let the dogs run free for a while.  It's a good opportunity to discuss confinement here continuing till the 15th so no point going back to Namur before the New Year now.   OH is busy cutting grass and raking leaves.   I've been doing a wash and some admin so need some fresh air too.

There's always more rubbish @Busy-Lizzie!  Love the squirrel story @Fairygirl.   Hope he does well.   The chooks are on form now but it looks as tho Cosmos the n-henherd has been playing at the farm next door and come off worst in a scrap with one of their feral farm cats.  That'll be another abscess then.  Lovely.
