    Morning all.
    That’s a bit scary @obelixx - hope the clear-up and repairs aren’t too stressful.

Wet and windy here. Just done a shopping drop off to MIL. We stayed in the garage with door open and masks on as although it is “allowed” for her to have me indoors (according to new Wales rules about people living their own can link with one household), I decided that as I had been around positive patients this week I would be extra careful. It’s very hard though as she really could do with company, hugs and chats at the moment. All the probate stuff is making her a bit sad.

I think it’s a baking/cooking day today plus I have been given a pile of jigsaws from MIL’s neice, so I could start one of those between cooking.

Have a good day all. Keep warm, dry, cosy, safe and entertained as best you can.

    Very hard @AuntyRach.  :/
Have you looked at the online jigsaw sites? A few of us use them.  :)

We’re watching a show about closed railways in Norfolk, Dove.  Can’t remember the bloke’s name. I’ll get it at the end. Very enjoyable. I wonder if you’ve seen it. A

Buzyl, I can recommend the recipe highly.  Lovely meal.

I have done a few on line but, a bit like books, I love a real one!
I have to do in the dining room though, otherwise the cats try to “help” đŸ˜Œ

I forgot to say earlier - I love smoked salmon and dill pancakes @Pat E 😋 I don’t grow dill - does it like a sunny spot?

I know what you mean @AuntyRach. I certainly feel that way about books  :)

Aunty Rach, I grew Dill this year in a pot on the eastern veranda with occasional plastic protection in a little frame. I don’t think it likes the warmer weather.

So far so good.  The insurance people have called back and said we need to get a quote for making things safe and another for repairing/replacing.  If they think it's too high they'll send their own expert.

Meanwhile, more wind forecast so more clearing needed to secure smaller treasures before anything else falls on them.

@AuntyRach could your OH not go and take shopping to your MIL?   And give her a hug.
I would have feline help with jigsaws too - even on the PC if I did them in the evening.

@chicky - good that your pa is doing well.   Must be such a relief for you all.

It is @Obelixx - lovely to see him pottering around enjoying life.  He doesn’t moan about much anymore - thinks he’s treating all this extra time as a bonus.  Really proud of him 😍

I write letters - mainly to Old friends that I don’t get to see much, and always on their birthdays (Christmas is too busy, plus always feels a bit like the dreaded “Christmas news” updates......although I love receiving them too đŸ€Ș).  Birthdays are much more personal.  As a result, they all reply on my birthday.  So one of the best bits of a birthday these days is sitting down to read lots of newsy letters 🎁

I know less and less people do it as it is getting harder and harder to find pretty notepaper 💌

Thanks Pat - might try it next year.

Obelixx - OH does go (hugs unspecified 😅) but we both are potential germ-carriers realistically. I’m just sad (angry) that she can’t have the freedom and company she deserves after being a full time carer for so long. Just the mention of C*mas made her upset.
I’ve already decided not to have a tree this year (partly a statement action; partly practical) and will do a lights and greenery display instead. I actually quite like the idea that ‘festivities’ will be different this year. One thing the pandemic has shown me, both in work and at home, is that I quite like a change to the norm, finding ways round things and challenging things that are actually restrictive or old fashioned. Shame it’s because of a serious health issue of course. Just my thought for the day.
