The worst bit about it was, the owners had them along the side of their garage, and they would really never see them because of the site, but the poor folk in the house opposite had them in full view of the front windows!
They must really hate their neighbours 🤣

Took my oldest to the GC tonight a bit before they closed to buy some bulbs.. found these.  He had a lot of questions about the 'why' of painting them that I couldn't answer.

That crossed my mind too! :D
I see quite a few of these monstrosities when I'm out walking. I should really take my camera.  ;)
In the same [ very posh ] estate, there's an entrance to a house with two large enamelled 'statues'. Like Victorian children. I don't like to stare, but it's really hard not to! They hold plant pots, which match several other pots around the door etc. It's all very nicely planted [if you like gaudy bedding] and maintained, but it's a real show stopper  :D
They are truly vile @Blue Onion....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • There are two missing from the display, too, which worryingly suggests someone actually likes them...   :o
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
  • It was me. I've been desperate for a blue and purple haworthia to go with my silver glitter echeveria.

     :s

Do you think there is some industrial machine that paints these and churns them out at a rate of knots, or that there's some poor student on work experience sitting in a small room with a spray can...

I bought two cyclamen from Morrison's for a pound each and they've sat on the kitchen window sill in the original pot and soil ever since. I bought them over a year ago now and they haven't had a day since then when they weren't in flower. The only feed they get is the dregs from the tea pot. I don't know why we need plastic plants with good dooers like that to choose from.
To add to the gallery of shame though this seems to be the new Xmas idea :|

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  • :o What in the actual hell is that? A "reindeer" actually etched into the leaf? Or is it painted on? I did wonder how long it would be before some enterprising company realized you can scratch directly into some types of leaf.

Top of my list of plants associated with the Christmas season, there...

    I'm guessing it's laser etched.
