@amancalledgeorge. I had one of those, it was the white one with the blue behind. It grew about four foot horizontally along a sheltered flower bed. There were gas and water pipes running underneath so I suppose that's what kept the temperature up too. I think it was a very harsh winter that killed it. There was probably damp involved but I don't remember.

  • I dislike the cacti with artificial flowers in garish colours stuck in the top to resemble real flowers in their typical cluster.
  • I hate those too. I was given some and  for one I managed to remove them, so that one can grow. Another they are partially gone and I hope that with the passage of time the remains may gradually be shed, but the last one has so much glue that the growing point is completely covered and the poor thing has no chance. Vile!

Thank god for this thread. I was just doing a double take at these heathers yesterday and didn't have a clue what was going on.
  • Yes, Dulux has recently moved into the garden plant industry  :o

Personally I dislike the dyed orchids the most. Such beautiful plants, with all their natural beauty hidden by a gallon of food coloring. Fortunately it does fade out, but I wonder how many people bought a blue orchid and can't figure out why it turned white after 6 months...

And look at this monstrosity! How could anyone believe this is natural. Someone has clearly gone at it with a highlighter pen!
