Morning everyone. Another grey day but at least we've been getting some much needed rain. Will get the ground ready for a planting session next week.
Rubee - hope your OH is ok. There seems to be a lot of wasps around this year. I wonder if you have a nest in the loft? Hopefully they'll disperse over the next few weeks as it cools down. Somebody in the village encountered a hornet last week - it was huge. Nasty...
Hazel - hope the boiler installation is going ok. We have no hot water this morning - deep, deep sigh. Think it's the motorised valve seized again. Boiler service booked for 2 weeks time - going to see if I can get it sorted before then. We have an immersion heater so it's not the end of the world if we can't - but it's an expensive way of heating water.

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
TBird , I hope you get your hot water back on soon . A few years ago we had a wasps nest in the fabric of the house .It was at the side of the back door . I have still to investigate that possibility .
Never thought of the loft TBird . I will have a look up there tomorrow.
Its flippin freezing here today, we have the heating on. Don't usually have it on this early. Really hope this isn't the sign of a very cold winter 🥶🥶 Hope your OH is ok Rubee. We had a wasps nest in the loft a few years ago. They 'chewed' a small hole through the ceiling in the spare bedroom. There were a few buzzing around the bedroom, we thought they'd come in through the window. But a few days later there were in again and that's when we noticed the small hole. We sprayed wasp killer through the hole first of all and then managed to get rid of them . Hope the boilers finished and you're nice and warm now Hazel.
Good evening all. Two very busy days are behind me. Yesterday was sunny and pleasant so I went to cottage after school. I done a lot of things and most important thing is that I harvested beetroots. Found slightly over 73 kilos and I'm very happy. Today came man to clean all chimneys so I have again a lot of dust. Think that I'll take the rest of the day just for myself.
SGL, here is also unusually cold for this time of the year. It started to rain half an hour ago.
LB, I'll not have pumpkins this year on Halloween. Didn't grove them this year. But I harvested this beauties yesterday:
Hello everyone. Ante, 73k is a gigantic crop! No wonder you are pleased. Well done. Those squashes are so beautiful and white! My Autumn crocuses are flowering too but struggling to get through some plants I need to cut back. I only noticed them the other day.
Its good that you are getting these jobs done before the winter Ante. I hope Hazel is nice and warm now with plenty hot water.
