Agree @Liriodendron and @LG_ Two of my ballroom dance teachers have been of fluid sexuality and it has no bearing on their basic personability, character or competence.  Those attributes are all down to intellect, personality, inventiveness.

I just want to see commitment, effort, willingness to learn and to step outside of safety/comfort zones.   That's what makes Strictly so compelling.

  • There was thankfully less screeching and over the top flapping about.....but there was still some when meeting their dance partners.   I do think all that  is very annoying as I don't believe for one minute that have no idea who they are going to dance with. I'm glad I recorded it so I could whizz through some of it. I did enjoy the group dance at the end and think there are some very promising good dancers. Think this could still be enjoyable without an audience and especially Brunos over the top judging.
I have my eye on a few already and looking forward to seeing next weeks

I agree about the lack of an audience being a distinct improvement for those watching at home. There was a move in the first group dance that made me think "Wow", and it was made better for me by not hearing the studio audience wooping and cheering all the way through. I found it much less distracting.
It will be interesting to know if the lack of a large studio audience has a big effect on the celebrities (and their professional partners who have become so used to it ).

Not too keen on the pr dance at  the start but, on te whole, a very good start with some cracking performances form some of the celebs and clever choreography from the pros.

Sorry for Anton but his partner can go, asap, and the Chelsea chappy can go too.

  • I wasn't that keen on the Pro dance either. Noticed Anton sat down most of the time, lifting his hat up  and down. Even when they danced off at the end he had his head down and holding his hat.
The fannying about at the beginning of a dance with time filling 'acting' gets on my nerves too. Always reminds of Len Goodman though 😂😂......as he hated it too.😉
There's some good dances there, but agree also the chap that came back this year can go and  Jacqui (weird spelling) Smith , Antons partner can go too.

Think they have to have a bit of faffing about at the beginning of the routines early in the series ... most of the celebs don’t have the stamina to dance for the whole time ... let alone have the muscle memory to remember a longer routine ... yet.

Generally speaking, l enjoyed it. Didn't miss the mass hysteria in the "Clauditorium", and definitely didn't miss Bruno. As l was recording it, l was able to fast forward his bit at the end.
H(a)RV(e)Y's jive with Janette was certainly speedy.
