  • Was it my imagination or did Maisie out dance Gorka in the couples choice? 🤔
  • I agree with you @AnniD, The music for a Tango was awful, and Bill struggled, although it would seem that he chose it.
@purplerallim you took the words from my mouth,I think those two will be in the dance off. Unfortunately Ranvir will have to Jive again,I cant see her getting into that lovely dress again. I thought the Jive costumes were ghastly.
Its been a funny old series,I havent enjoyed it like I normally do,and I dont like the Freestyle.i

  • I haven't really enjoyed this year as much as I normally do either @Valley Gardener
I don't particularly like the couples choice dances either.
They've all been good dancers this year,  but I don't think there's anyone that particularly stands out above the rest as in previous years.
    Just my opinion.

I think Maisie was the top dancer last night. Any of the others could be in the dance-off. I think Ranvir might go, which is a shame as she has really embraced it all. I won’t be disappointed to see Giovanni dance again though, just to check their technique of course 😉

I really, really, really disliked Maisie's routine from the costumes to the music to the "dance" and having spent a dozen years being the adult presence at Hip Hop, Funky, R&B and Break dance classes for the dance club I think I know a bit about the moves and the music.

I also really disliked both of Jamie's dances - prefer elegant Quickstep to farcical - and Ranvir clearly got jive in a bad week and is in for a tough ride if she has to do it again in the dance off.   I'm afraid Bill Bailey wants shooting for inflicting metallica on a tango.  There's some fabulous tango music, both old and new, out there but that piece was alienation on a plate.

Not an inspiring or uplifting show last night.

  • Glad it wasn't just me @Obelixx  I didn't like Maisie's dance or costume either.

I'm hoping that Ranvir.....if in the dance off.....doesn't dance the jive.
I'm not bothered really who wins......as long as it's not Jamie
  • I'm with you on that @star gaze lily

    *SPOILER ALERT*

Think you will be disappointed then @star gaze lily. As a complete non expert l can see what Shirley meant, Jamie obviously gave it everything he had, and l admire him for that. I assume that Ranvir didn't "power through" as requested by Shirley. If she had danced the jive again l felt she definitely would have gone anyway.
I got the impression that she was secretly rather relieved to be out, she seemed more disappointed for Giovanni. She must be worn out, getting up around 3am every week day.
I really enjoyed her dance on both occasions, l heard Giovanni say on It Takes Two that it was going to be a straightforward dance, no props or gimmicks,  and that made it lovely to watch.
I may have said this before, apologies if so, but l really have enjoyed the professional dances this year without the whooping and hollering. I can appreciate the storytelling much more.
I am so glad that the BBC went ahead this year and (barring disaster 🤞), only lost one couple through Covid. I appreciate the efforts made by everyone involved.
I have my bottle of sparkling elderflower ready for the Final. Cheers 🍾

I didn't think anybody performed particularly badly on Saturday night but did think that Ranvir's performance was the weakest.  Kicks seemed to lack oomph which I presume is what Shirley was referring to.
