Thanks @Hostafan1, may I claim one?
Just had a chat with the estate agent. Neither firm who came for an estimate for septic tank updates have sent estimates to my buyers. They both promised them before Monday last week.

Had a chat with an old riding friend on the phone, she's asked me to lunch on Friday. :)
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

@Fairygirl Was that the programme where Margi Clark climbed the Munro’s one a week?

Don't think so @Lyn - it's just about rescues - land, sea and air. It started a week past Sunday :)
I don't know who Margi Clark is though. Is she a hillwalker/climber?
The Michael Palin thing sounds good @steephill - I haven't seen that. The Munro Show was quite odd -in that 80s way. I don't like Muriel Gray, but her Munro book was very funny.

Good to 'see' you @Hostafan1  :)

Just back from college.  Now know how a seed germinates and it has blown my mind 🤯🌱.  I now understand all those things I observed happening when I sowed beans, peas, pumpkins and corn this year.  Nature is amazing 😀😀😀

Might have to go lie down in a darkened room to process my revelations 😮

Of course, if I’d ever done biology I’d have known this 40 years ago ......but my school wouldn’t let me do that and music .....and I don’t think I would have sacrificed the music, even if I knew then what I know now 🎵🎶🎼🎷

Do you need someone to mop your brow and peel you a grape too @chicky ;)

But it’s not just a grape @Fairygirl ...... it could be the beginning of a new life if someone treats it right 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  • Evening all,
Managed to cook a three course dinner for me and Charlie, veggies and everything. Poor lad usually has to have something from the menu and after everyone else has been fed too. He chose Cottage Pie, which is not on the menu and I stuffed loads of fresh veg in it too as well as buttered leeks & carrots on the side. Nice bottle of wine from our recent trip to The Vendée too. 🍷🍷

Hugs to all, especially @Busy-Lizzie , sleep well, don't worry, it will get sorted - eventually - life in France eh!

Still picking tomatoes and aubergines from Charlie's veg patch, it's been terribly neglected since he went back to school but is looking surprisingly good. Probably more tomatoes than ever before when I was nurse maiding them daily in a past life.

I think I may need  darkened room too @chicky after watching Tenet and having my mind well and truly boggled with conundrums.    I did do biology to O level including growing a broad bean seed in a jar and having to draw the various stages of germination.  Doesn't make each new plantlet any less wonderful - unless it's a weedlet.

@D0rdogne_Damsel there's a local artisanal beer called Mélusine too but, after several tests, OH prefers Belgian.    Well done Charlie for all those veg.

@Busy-Lizzie - See if you can find another company to do the estimates and cut out the two who clearly already have enough business.  The estate agents must know some more.
