  • Hmmm ... what’s left to be done @Hostafan1... is it to be dusting and polishing or weeding and mowing ?

I was cutting grass until 7pm yesterday. I've done " the big bit" but nothing else.
Major dusting and polishing, and moving the spare fridge freezer back over to the garage

Morning all,  Have an unexpected day looking after Jonah, with all the recent upsets Secondborn had forgotten to book him into nursery today.  I'm taking him for his play date at 'big school' before he starts full time tomorrow.
@Fairygirl Thank you so much for the strawberry runners and the lovely card that arrived this morning.  They are in great condition and I have already potted them up. When I get a chance I'll post a photo.  Never grown them before so I am really excited at the prospect of homegrown strawberries next year. When the doorbell rang I thought it was Jonah so I shouted 'whose that knocking at my door' in my best Monster voice.  The postman thought I was balmy, luckily he has grandchildren too so when I explained he was very understanding.

  • As long as he didn’t shout back that he was the wolf and he’d come to huff and puff and blow your house down @Yviestevie đŸ€ŁÂ

Enjoy @Fairygirl's generous bounty. I find strawberries very easy (so they must be!) and productive. In fact, this morning I've started planting the first years into my new patch. Had to stop as I'm off to the SM for our click and collect slot.

I've not long got up - had to wait for the painkillers to kick in before I could move this morning so no more gardening for me today. @Fairygirl,  we always used to have somebody cut all our hedges but when the price crept up to over £250, twice a year, we decided we'd try to do it ourselves. Might have to rethink that idea. Bath is perceived to be a rich city so we reckon the prices are adjusted accordingly, our petrol is always dearer than anywhere else.

An exciting day for you @Hostafan1, have you a large hanky at the ready?

Strawberries are a lovely crop and easy to grow - if you can keep the slugs away. I grow mine on a raised table in a grobag, much easier to pick.

Have a good day everyone, hope Punkdoc gets sorted as well.
