Evening😎 We’ve had a lovely day and can thoroughly recommend a visit to the Bomber Command Centre to anybody vaguely interested in such things. A new museum (2 or 3 years old I think) and very well done. Very much in the spirit of remembrance and reconciliation and acknowledging the contribution of all nationalities and ranks involved. The controversy of bombing cities and civilians by both sides was looked at in some detail.

The memorial itself was very impressive and moving.

Just chilling now - but hard to do as it’s so warm! - about 25C. Weather’s really topsy turvy at the moment.

Don’t need much in the way of supper. OH had a full English and I had a child’s mini breakfast - excellent but still feel full - they obviously breed hollow legged children in Lincolnshire!

LB’s tale of Paxo reminds me of a work colleague who went home one night and thought burglars had got in - chairs overturned, things swept off the side board etc. Nothing taken. When the same thing happened 2 days later they realised it was their new rescue cat at work. He was a big cat and they caught him in the act of taking a flying leap at back of an armchair and over turning it. He was just bored without company. Leaving the radio on a talk programme dealt with the problem!

    I don’t miss rude awakenings like Rubee’s....

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

    Good evening all!

Sorry I wasn't around last two or three days. I had a lot to do and new rule at school are little bit difficult for children. For us also, but it's better this way than online classes.
Last night I got toothache. I was at my dentist, of course with new entrance rules and all other ones. I'm on antibiotics now, tooth still ache, but tolerably. Next appointment is next saturday.
I hope so that you all are well!

Evening everyone.  Not long arrived home after a day at Secondborn's putting beds together, amongst other things.  Jonah and Gabriel went to the house for the first time today and loved their second bedroom.  They liked the garden too, it's much bigger than at the other house.  A difficult day emotionally, but it went as smoothly as possible.

Evening all. T'Bird, a visit to BCC has gone on my bucket list. It must have been a bit of a relief for your work colleague, finding out it was just the cat that had created the chaos. Got an email today from a local restaurant to say that they are going to run Eat Out to Help Out Take 2 during September (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) so brother and I have booked for next week.
Ante, I am so sorry to hear you have toothache - not nice at all. I hope that the antibiotics help get rid of any infection so that by Saturday you will find out if anything further needs doing. You have just reminded me that I need to give my Dentist a ring to see if I can get an appointment for a check up.
Yvie, so glad to hear that the move seems to be going as smoothly as it can do in the circumstances.

  • Good evening everyone,
I really like the story about Paxo listening to the radio LB. As long as you are ok just need a temporary sign until you are ready
    🙂 Sleep well, Goodnight.

Ante sorry to hear you’ve had a tough time at school and toothache that’s horrible, hope the antibiotics act quickly to relieve the pain and the children become used to the new rules,
Yvie That’s a good start the boys like the house and garden, glad the beds went together without any problems,
Time for me to hit the hay, Goodnight Everyone.
  • Bit late dropping in, you are all in the land of nod now. Had a busy day in the garden.....cut back grass....except for the last section, OH does thst with petrol mower. Cut back some plants and shrubs and one of the roses that's looks finished for this year. The rest, especially the ones in the front are still flowering and have lots of new buds. Put some of the pots in a sheltered spot for over wintering....can still get the benefit of seeing the plants for a bit longer.  Washed one of the bins out, will do the other 2 next week when emptied......the garden bin is full!!
Had a catch up with a friend on the phone and then cooked tea. Then a lazy evening watching a James Bond film.
Ante, sorry to hear about your toothache, hope it gets sorted soon. Hope the children get used to the new rules soon.
Yvie, good news that the boys love their new bedroom and garden. You must be very tired with helping with the move, hope you get a good night's rest. Take care.
Saying night night to you all, sleep well everyone.
I'm going to read for a bit, as I'm wide awake 🙄
