  • Afternoon All,
Hazel that is a cracking idea to put  our friends to good use on Sunday, though if I ply them with too much alcohol the painting could go awry 🤪
LB Glad you are ok, always a worry not to see you first thing. Sorry to hear about the plumbing debacle, what a palaver just to book an engineer! Rant away, it’s no good for everyone to go on an app or online. Mum was most disappointed that she now has to place orders for milk that way. Hope they can resolve the toilet issue tomorrow,
Yvie that sounds like a challenging morning you’ve had, I hope the beds don’t prove to be difficult to assemble. All being well the house will be ready for the boys on Friday to settle in properly,
Right I’m going to try and get the grass cut quickly now.

Hi all, work a bit better just a few issues with new staff the new senior thinks she doesn’t have to work Saturdays so that’s not going well. We all take turns it’s only one Saturday in 7 so hardly a real issue. She is a little bossy for my liking but I am trying to stay uninvolved.
    Still no date for kitchen.
Hope your toilet issues get sorted LB.
Yvie, you are doing as any Mom would and giving your daughter support in hard times, if she is unhappy she is doing the right thing, there are no easy paths in life and things will improve soon I hope, I remember looking at Maisie as a toddler and breaking my heart that she had “lost her daddy” when my daughter split up with him but now she has a lovely step dad and baby brother and most importantly a happy Mom.

  • Evening everyone, hope you’ve all got your feet up and a comfy seat.
Grass cut & one wall painted.
Debs wise move to stay out of disputes at work, you don’t need the aggravation. Hope that new kitchen puts in an appearance soon, can’t be easy without major appliances working.
Signing off now, pj’s on and an hour to just sit back and unwind. Goodnight All.

Just watched Uni Chall and I was singularly unimpressive - only got 7 tonight. Must do better! Signing out for tonight. I hope Ante's had a good day at school. Debs, thats the best thing to do - just keep going with your head down.
Good night Katzen kunst Katze malen Regenbogenbrcke

    Evening all!

LB - good luck with the engineer tomorrow. I’m fed up with companies trying to force me to use their Apps. I have a couple of friends who don’t have smart phones or tablets and have basically refused to have anything to do with t’interweb. Don’t know how they cope. They are starting to struggle with day to day existence. They blame everyone else for not catering to their non-online needs instead of moving with the times. I only really feel sorry for those who want to be online but just cannot get a proper internet connection. A lot of those in rural Suffolk.

Chive - good luck with the decorating. Nothing like a deadline to spur you on.

We’ve had a lovely day exploring the Lincs Wolds. Very pretty villages, a lot of history and some very intact WWII airfields.

Feeling a little more relaxed than last night when OH opened a new box of (red) wine just as I was serving dinner. The spout came away in his hand and over a litre of red wine exploded around the motorhome before we got it out of the door. Spent an hour cleaning up - it went everywhere except (thank goodness) onto the pale fabric seats.

    😡😡😡🤬

Good morning all, woke early and can’t get back off to sleep. I want to move the tv in the back room and am trying to decide which wall is most appropriate. The only one I feel works is above the radiator and not sure if that’s a good idea.
@Topbird what a nightmare with the wine, did you manage to get it out of everything? I have had success in the past with salt on a spill on a carpet? It soaks it up and stops it staining. Good luck.
Day off today but fiancé still at work so painting in back room to finish. Hence TV dilemma. Not a job I love but I need to achieve something. I am finding myself stressed with all the issues I can’t change at the moment with work and the house and fiancé working away so if I do something productive I feel more in control if that makes sense?
Hope everyone has a nice day planned.

Good morning Debs and everyone who arrives later. Aaargh T'Bird! What a catastrophe. I'm glad to hear that the pale upholstery manage to escape that blood bath. I hope you managed to at least get some glasses out of the box, otherwise I see a shop dash for emergency back-up rations today. After Scampton Dad was transferred to a tiny base called RAF Sturgate near to a small village called Upton. This was where the Americans had a complete 'estate' of so called Tobacco Houses (I really should research why they were called that) where the American personnel connected with the Thor Missiles installation at RAF Hemswell were housed. Dad was the RAF Liaison officer who looked after the Americans. That was a very interesting time I have to say. Dad got his MBE for that work. Very proud of him though I have to smile now when I think of what would have been his reactions to POTUS.
Debs, regarding the TV, I wouldn't do it myself but I don't think you should have too much of a problem putting a TV above a radiator providing you can leave as big a gap as possible between TV and radiator top or install a shelf above the radiator to deflect the heat away.

Thanks LB I want it moved as it’s above the fireplace so a focal point in the room at the moment and I need it to be less intrusive as it’s going to be a dining room. I know it’s awful but I do watch TV when I am eating as I am often alone so I don’t want it out of the room altogether but less of a feature.
Interesting bit of history about your Dad, I love to hear about people’s lives rather than just cold hard dates and facts. I bet he could have told some tales.

He did have some marvellous stories Debs. My TV goes on in the morning and stays on all the time I am indoors. I call it 'the moving wallpaper'. Its a bit like the radio in that I listen to any interesting dialogue, I watch what I want as and when but a lot of the time it is just talking to empty spaces.
