Good morning Rosie and all to follow. Off to work in a while just having my cup of tea and trying to motivate myself to go. It has been a difficult few days at work and I am starting to dread it a bit but hoping for a better day. Hope everyone has a good day planned.

  • Good Morning Rosie & Debs and all to follow, Hope LB is ok,
Debs I hope it does improve for you at work, it’s not a nice feeling to dread going,
Rosie up very early, sorry to hear you’re having problems with connection that’s a pain,
Hazel Sorry I missed your post last night, yes we did apply a white wash first to seal the fresh plaster, it absorbs the liquid so quickly. We’ve got company next weekend so I hope we can get the room sorted by then🤞
    Have a good day everyone.

Sorry everyone, I forgot to click on the post button!!! I'm a twonk Morning Chive and Ruby.
Yvie, I hope that you weren't kept waiting around too long for the beds to arrive and that the delivery men carry them in to where they are needed. As I was so remiss in posting this morning (and I've been up for ages!) I notice Chive that you and I have expressed the same concerns to Debs.
I'm a bit distracted as I am having toilet trouble. Not THAT sort tee hee. The water keeps flowing into the toilet after flushing so it is not shutting off properly. I will be giving BG a call this morning - making my home plan play its part. I'm on metered water and I do not want to be wasting water unnecessarily. Speaking of which, it is pouring down here! Grrrr.

Excuse me whilst I have a mini rant. Heaven help the folk who do not have access to technology.
I ring the number I have for BG. Mechanical voice tells me that number is no longer in use but I can access the website or download the App. If I didn't wish to do this they gave me a phone number to call - probably premium rates. I ring the number, mechanical voice tells me how much easier it would be to download the App and that I may have to wait 30 minutes for someone to answer my call.
Grudgingly I sign in to my account and go to HomeCare. I am told that the App would be easier, except for plumbing and drains enquiry which the App doesn't cover - oops!
I am then shown a number of cute little pictures and am told to select the one appropriate to my problem. The nearest I can get is a leaky downspout. Eventually I find my first reference of a toilet. 'Toilet not flushing'. In despair I select this as the most like my problem. Then a pop up window appears and Arun Prakash types and asks me if he can help me today. I explain that I cannot find my problem on their web page. Briefly tell him the story and he says that I can tell the engineer all this when he phones to confirm his visit. I wish Arun safe and well and then decided that a cup of tea was in order and an outpouring on here to you lot. I have an engineer booked for tomorrow between 08:00 and 13:00. Sorry everyone. Rant over with now.
T'Bird, if you get chance to look in, I hope that you are having a wonderful time.

Afternoon all,  Agree LB if you don't have a computer, decent phone and the ability to use both life is very complicated.  I had to drive over to Secondborn's at 6 this morning so that I could be there when they delivered the boy's new beds.  I spent about 2 hours hanging up enough clobber to clothe the whole of the northern hemisphere so that they could have somewhere to put the flatpack bed boxes.  Then had to wait for the boiler man to come and sort that out as the heating wasn't working.  I'm back over tomorrow to help get the house sorted after the removal men have dropped off all the furniture.  The boys will be going there straight from school to have their tea.  They will be sleeping at the new house for the first time on Friday (if we can get the beds put together by then).  Think I'm getting Wed and Thurs off, fingers crossed.

Afties all. Yvie, it looks as though you are going to have a really busy week. I'm sure that Secondborn will be thankful to have her Mum around to help out.
