No painting today - didn't look like it would stay dry. Although it has so far
Alternating between blue skies and black clouds with a strong breeze changing the situation every 10 mins. Had to be satisfied by a bit of pruning and weeding and got the front mowed for the first time in a few weeks. Garden waste bin is getting pretty full again. Took a couple of rose cuttings and pinned a few more strawberry runners (don't know where I'm going to put them all next year!). Hoping that the paint brushes can come out in the next few days. The current forecast suggests only a small chance of rain.
I hope that it is not too windy for you either Biglad. You might resemble a Jackson Pollock! Sun's come out again. Looks almost summery outside. I am not tempted to go back out again. It can shine all it likes!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Evening - it’s beeen another lovely warm day here - shorts and T-shirts all the way.
Been for lunch at the Dambusters Inn which was full of memorabilia relating to the raid, 617 Squadron and aviation in general. We went late so the pub was empty when we finished and the very enthusiastic landlord gave us a tour of the exhibits.
LB - on the way there we went to RAF Sturgate which is now home to 2 flying clubs and a small commercial charter business. OH used to fly in regularly with students when he was teaching in Yorkshire. I think he was a bit peeved that (over 30 years later) they’d dared to change things a bit and put some new hangars and portacabins in.
We also drove through Upton so I probably waved at your old house for you!
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

I've been called some things in my time @Ladybird4
Lovely late summer evening at 6.50pm, sky was black @ 7pm, blue sky is back now @ 7.10pm
Oh my T'Bird. I am really quite moved to hear that Sturgate is still there. I honestly thought - housing estate! I wonder if you passed a pub called The Rose and Crown in Upton. Our friend Christopher lived there as his parents ran the pub. You have brought back some more memories of our life there. We all used to cycle to school in Gainsborough. That was when the country roads were nice and quiet.
T'Bird, you are a minx but at least you 'fessed up to it
Now Biglad, you know it was all in the best possible taste!
