It is sooooo hot isn’t it Chive? We’re not too far from you and it’s about 36C just now. I’d give anything for a cooling sea breeze & a pint of Adnams at Southwold...

    Thanks for the quiz LB.

PS Meant to say - hope you feel better soon Hazel - sounds like a bug or heat related stress.

and hope they sort out your laptop LB - what a pain! A week on and I’m still waiting for my new printer to be delivered. Had to phone John Lewis today to ‘have a word’. Not like them....

The thunder has been rolling round me for almost an hour now. No rain as yet but I'm hoping it will start falling soon (I have watered though!)
    Update: rain has arrived!

    Evening to all!

LB, yes, we are always complaining on weather. I'll rather choose rainy day than this inferno. I wear short sleeves shirts thru all year. During winter I have thin jacket only because people complaining when they see me in short sleeves. They usually say: It's immediately cold when I see you "naked" outside.
Back to subject, I can really use some of your rain.

I found surprise in mailbox, bulb and plant catalog for autumn and spring.

Evening all,  Still really hot here.  We had a tremendous light show last night, continuous flashes and rumbling thunder for hours, but no rain.  Tonight it has rained but not for long so don't suppose it will have done much good.  Looked after grandsons again today took them out to the local country park and had a picnic and a walk round the lake.  It's about a mile and think it was a bit ambitious but we recovered with an ice cream when we finished the circuit.
Have had a rough couple of weeks and it is now looking like Secondborn and her Hubby will be going their separate ways.  It's very, very sad but no-one else is involved and I'm sure that they willl put the boys first in any decisions they make.  Secondborn is going to be looking for a place to rent as close to the house as possible.  The boys will have their own rooms in both houses. I have no idea how all this will work out.  All we can do is be there for them and keep things as normal as possible for the boys.

So sorry to hear that Yvie . It is always so sad when a relationship breaks up ,particularly when there are children involved . It’s a good job that you will be there for the boys as well as the couple.
Look after yourself and get plenty of rest .
