Morning all/afties Pat if you're around. I was on other threads and forgot I hadn't looked in here. Losing the plot.... @chicky -torties are the first ones to show here, apart from the odd overwintering peacock if it's warm, and definitely the most common. Lovely little things. The thunder and lightning seems to have bypassed us here - south and east, or north and west of us. We just had the rain. I like a good thunderstorm as we don't get them very often. Nice and cool here again - 16 just now. Yesterday was similar until the sun came out for an hour in the afternoon. Hope your heating system works well @Liriodendron. They still reckon they are better than the ground pumps etc, from what I hear.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
No one was hurt in that fire, but 8 hectares of pasture caught fire too.
I've thrown out, well, given to a charity, the contents of a wardrobe. Clothes I used to fit into once, size 10 and 12, a lot was almost new. Shows what the menopause does.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
All the teaching has to rub off eventually @floralies. OH butchered a lilac tree earlier this year and then was shown how to do it right when I did another one. He then corrected the first, did a small one much better and then took it upon himself to scrag our big fig and did that right. I don't interfere wen he does the grapes cos i'm not interested in teeny grapes full of pips tho I did make some rosemary and grape jemmy with some last year.
No idea what's going on with our weather now. Sunday morning they were forecasting heavy storms tomorrow and worse on Thursday. By yesterday, Thursday was clear of storms. This morning, tomorrow's storms had been advanced to 2am with little rain and now they've brought back storms for Thursday. This surely isn't just a case of not enough data from passing passenger jets! Covid virus in the weather computers?
Good to be having a clear out @Busy-Lizzie . You'll feel lighter for it.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

My husband managed to set our compost bin alight once. He had been burning stuff in an incinerator the day before and tipprd the 'dead' ash onto the compost. Next thing we knew was our neighbour shouting Fire and flames 8ft high. The fence and the guttering on the garage were damaged but the flames were under control by the time the fire service arrived.
Hope everyone is coping in the heat! Hosta come and collect this weather and take it away with you please.... its 33 at 7.15pm!!!!! Horrid! Nearly fainted at work. OH got sent home due to sickle cell, thinking of moving to Antarctica! Dove has knitted us plenty of jumpers and I'd rather be cold than hot!!!
