Ouch ouch ouch SGL. I hadn't realised it was a wasp. They are horrendous - whoever gets them, I liken it to having a red hot needle pushed into me. Plus I have to remember where my Epipen is!
T'Bird, I got a letter telling me when the call was going to occur and it was on time. All OK and they are sending me out the forms to get my bloods done. I'll go down to the medical centre as soon as I get the forms then that will be that out of the way.
I've been in the garden and severely cut back a rambling rose, called surprisingly, Rambling Rosie. (Named after you Rosie???). Its a DA rose absolutely wonderful because it is very, very healthy but lacking a scent which is a bit sad. I also removed a large branch from the bird cherry it rambles up, and the light in the front garden is amazing now. I'll keep the rose more in bounds. It probably needs a bit more management than I've given it so far.

Afternoon all, Sorry to hear about the wasp sting Lilly, the tabs are the only way to go. Funnily enough I haven't had so many bites this year. Gnats and mozzies love me and usually I'm covered in bites if I don't use repellant, even in this country. So far they have left me alone (touch wood). Popped round to Besties this morning to water her plants and feed creature (her cat) she always has a go at me even though I am really nice to her. Then spent an hour trying to find the hair clippers I bought to do hubby's locks at the beginning shutdown. Finally located them and gave him a hair cut. Looks a bit lopsided but it'll do. Planning to pop out and feed all the plants in a minute after I've had a cuppa. Have a good day everyone.
Cream is antihistamine for stings. The only tablets I have are for OHs hayfever, could try a few days of those. Hope all goes well with your phone consultation LB. just cleaned out the shed, how does so much stuff accumulate in there. I've enough little pots to start a garden centre!  Time for a sandwich and cup of teaÂ

Thank you everyone, I'll try the hayfever tablets, it's so very itchy at the moment. It's quite a size too....long and quite wide....definitely 3 possibly 4 stings .
Good Afternoon everyone, once again I can hang up my apron for the summer 🥳 Hope you are all keeping well, sorry to hear about those wasp stings Lily very painful and in such an awkward place on your body. Time for a cuppa and sit in the garden.Â
I agree antihistamines are the way to go though they make me sleepy!Â
Very fed up as hairdresser cancelled last minute feeling unwell not the C word. Hoping she is better soon. Spent day clearing front room for decorating and harvesting courgettes and black currants from the allotment. So disappointed with my sweet peas this year only a few plants survived and they are stunted and covered in aphids. Anyone had success with autumn sowing? Tips please? Going to move stuff around on allotment so they have a new place to grow and try to do better in 2021.Â
On a happier note I have finally grown poppies from seed and they are exquisite.Â
Shame about your hairdresser Debs but at least she let you know she wasn't well instead of turning up and passing whatever she has on to you. I don't grow sweet peas so I can't help you on that one Debs but when they are finished cut them off at ground level and leave the roots in the ground. They will return nitrogen to the soil. Are your poppies those wonderful tissue paper types in glorious colours?
