Good morning allĀ āāāāĀ Late on parade as firstly OH had an early start, then my laptop decided it had other priorities ... so I've been out in the garden emptying pot saucers and picking courgettes.Ā I've also had a quick chat with Wonky before she gets going for the day.Ā Just had a quick readback ... now I'm just going to prep a traybake of chicken thighs, chorizo, peppers, onion and courgettes for when OH gets back this evening ... then I'm heading for the studio again.Ā Have a good day folksĀ
Gardening in Central NorfolkĀ on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Hello all. A cool day here (well to me it is) after our 32 deg yesterday, only 21 deg today, a much better day for getting in the garden and doing things. I went to post a card earlier and it was very busy, everyone out and about getting ready for their long weekend which takes in our Fete Nationale on Tuesday. Have a good day all, I see your weather is to be better on Sunday!
I have retreated to the living room cos OH is finishing his lunch by having some very ripe Chaource with his apple.Ā Too stinky for my nose!
Love a good traybake but find chorizo can overpower all the rest @Dovefromabove.Ā Ā Ā Ā Coriander cod for us tonight with black riso venere and carrot pilaf and some home grown Savoy.
We love the chorizo permeating everything @Obelixx ... and thereās a sprinkling of pimento dulce and EVOO over everything along with some preserved lemons and sundried tomatoes. Weāll have it with couscous and chickpeas.Ā

Been to Saffron Walden and retrieved my Barclaycard. I needed it before we go to France tomorrow.
@Fairygirl older people in Norfolk are much better at distancing. Some of the young seem to think that if they rush past they'll be immune. In town in France it's usually the older people who have to step out of the way for the young to go past on the pavement. Several times a young person with a mobile phone has walked right into me.
Raining again.
The baby pigeons have flown, they were there in the next yesterday. There were only two. It was hard to see as there was always a parent in the nest with them.
This morning there were five young blackbirds having flying lessons in the garden with Mum and Dad. They kept flying on and off the fence, looked a bit wobbly and fluffy. I just hope next door's killer cat stays away.
I have various things I must do before tomorrow. I'll change the bed but sheets will have to wait until OH comes back next month then he can wash them. The spare room where I dry laundry is still full of drying clothes that had been poured on. I have a tumble dryer in the washing machine but it takes ages and isn't very efficient. I hope everything fits in my small Ryanair bag. We don't take suitcases. When I arrived I was wearing jeans and a thick jumper and winter leather shoes. When we arrive it will be hot. Think I'll stick to the jeans but wear a summer top and slip on trainers. I'll have to leave the winter things here.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Have a good time in France @Busy-Lizzie. Hope the sorting out goes okay.
You are busy, busy @Dordogne_Damsel but it's good that people are flocking to eat out. We're really looking forward to our day out tomorrow. It's to an English pub run by a French family and the food is gorgeous. Thanks @Dovefromabove, hope you enjoy your dinner tonight but make sure you lick taste the courgettes first! (See Ben Cotto's post on Pansygirl's thread). Must crack on and do something in the garden while the sun is shining!
Sun is shining here at last so went to Webbs Garden Centre with my friend and managed to pick up a real bargain.Ā They had a BOGOF offer on some very lovely
large terracota pots so I treated myself to 2 large
and 2 mdium pots also bought aĀ couple of Heuchera's for Ā£4.50 each.Ā
Eyes not great but no worse
than yesterday so I've decided to wait for opticians appointment rather than go to A&E.Ā
Had a lovely evening yesterday playing Balderdash with Secondborn, SonIL , Merri and Mabel.

We've got a "high" of 17 forecast. I'd much rather have 21, or 32, it's flippin' freezin.Ā
