We’ve had quite a lot of (very welcome) rain overnight, and its hanging around this morning too. We thought we might give florence fennel a go too .......but only if our local GC has not run out of seeds 😳
I decide to change my 'pic' as the snow has all gone now [ apart from on some of the biggest hills] and as I was there a year ago yesterday, I picked a view from Sgurr a' Mhaoraich up in the north west. Definitely no snow on it then @Dovefromabove - maybe the police have been 'heron' something different on the grapevine...
All the talk of fennel reminds me I have a bronze one to plant, and the rain's gone orf, so I should go and do that. I have some strawberries to pick too, and a feeder to fill. Those sparrows are as bad as Peg-leg Pete. Greedy beggars.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I could've sworn I'd bought some Florence fennel seeds but I can't find them in my box and now I'm sort of remembering changing my mind because it's not keen on dry soil like what I have got ... I bought red radicchio seeds instead ... I've found them ... when I've made the weekend's bread and a couple of pizza bases for supper I'll pop out and do some sowing ... if the rain isn't back ... I've hung some washing out so it'll probably piddle down any minute

By the way, @WonkyWomble sends greetings to all ... busy, busy, busy of course ... she does read up on what we're up to but has little time to post at the moment ... she sends special greetings to @punkdoc and Moira ... I won't repeat what she said about the 'friend'. Now she's off to deliver ironing and buy compost .........

Greetings all. We have rain, the soft and gentle kind that soaks in. The sparrows and tits are having a ball in the rose beds teaching the young uns about dust baths and aphids and the feeders. Both cats curled up asleep on our bed and both dogs on a sofa. Hard life chez nous!
I hope Moira has a relaxing day today @punkdoc. You too. Did you get your satellite re-jigged @floralies ? We love fresh Florence Fennel @Dovefromabove - so much tastier than shop bought so worth a try if you can keep it watered. Radicchio is good to though and I never see it on sale here. Used to buy both as plugs in Belgium but haven't seen those either.
No idea what to plan for this pm as no idea when the rain will stop. The forecast says we're not getting any all day and the radar shows it has passed. So much for technology!
Have a good day, whatever you're up to and whatever your weather. Stay safe an ignore the loons.

Sat dish is re-jigged with the help of our neighbour @Obelixx. The problem now is that we have a scaffold pole keeping it in position as the bracket on the wall needs replacing and the dish will have to come down and then realigned by someone who knows what they are doing, but will do for now, if we don't get violent winds for a while. I haven't fed my roses yet @Dovefromabove I went out in the garden and got sidetracked with dead heading, I will do them later.
Hi folks, no word from Dordogne Damsel yet? - hope she's not too knackered today. Rain has stopped play nearly all day although we were lucky to get our daily walk for the paper in the dry and I dashed out to take photos of our terrace for another thread. I was going to pot on some left over tomato seedlings as they've suddenly decided to grow but that might have to wait till tomorrow. Thank goodness it's cooler though. My sister will be happy, she's gone down to see her newish twin granddaughters today, she's only seen them once I think since they were born in February. Their 3 yr old brother will be estastic to see granny again as well.
OH and I have been out to erect the last of the posts for the hen run. I've hung up some globe artichoke heads to dry to see if the keep their good looks. Quite a few pollinators on the flowers but not exactly buzzing. Picked some dahlias for the house, ditto but a greater variety of buzzies. Couldn't tell you which they were tho.
Done the deed on Rasta's ears. One teeny squirt each side and massage. She is such a drama queen and OH, who has to hold her still, is conned every time so lots of wriggling and squealing. Tail wagging now as they go off on walkies. Three weeks of this to come.
I hope you satellite dish holds for a while @floralies and that everyone's weather calms down for gardening purposes and comfort. We should get some more rain tomorrow evening but I'll believe it when I see it. The forecast for today has been wrong, all day.

@floralies I've just fed some of my roses, the ones that have just had their first flush of flowers.
If you are correct @Dovefromabove, one of their relations, living in East Sussex, stole the fish from my parent's pond several years ago!
Grey outside, has rained a little. No plans for today, apart from ironing.
