@Hostafan1 I replied to your post on the other thread about the Crinum, not a lot of help I'm afraid. There are so many posts on there at the moment, it fell off the page.

Oh thanks, sorry , I can't keep up with so many posts these days.
I'd be more than happy if it was 28C every single day in life. Perfect.

Guess who comes for supper before it gets dark?

He's not sure about this blue Spikey.

    He's so cute.

We went to The Old Vicarage at East Ruston with friends today, but in separate cars. The car park is in a shady field and we took picnics. Several other people were having picnics, but there weren't lots of people there, no queue for the loo. The gardens are lovely but looked as though there may have been a staffing problem as there were quite a lot of weeds in some areas. Other areas were well tended. Anyway, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. I'll post some photos tomorrow.

After the gardens we went to see the sea, not far, at Happisburgh, pronounced Hazebre. It's a beautiful sandy beach but rather sad as the sea is swallowing the coast along with about 35 homes and farmland.

    Evening all,

I've read back, all very interesting but I'm too exhausted to comment or remember who did what, beach looks lovely @chicky (?) 40 degrees all day here @Hostafan1, poor plants suffering, especially babies.
Can't face hairdresser at the moment.
Deck finished, builders went home, I've spent all afternoon clearing up! ☺️ Looks great though!

Don't think I told you yesterday that my friend in our village in France rang. She and a couple of friends from church have been to my French garden and spent Monday morning weeding it. She said they've removed all weeds they could from around the pool and loads of goose grass and nettles from the flowerbeds. There weren't many nettles last year. Isn't that kind of them? A man friend went yesterday and mowed, but I pay him though he doesn't charge a lot.

Glad your French garden is getting some attention @Busy-Lizzie ....it was indeed very kind of them 😍.

Gorgeous Spikey 🦔...I am so very jealous 😮

Terrace looks amazing @D0rdogne_Damsel ......but did your tables turn up?   We are all on tenterhooks here 😳

Also, love East Ruston gardens @Busy-Lizzie.   Many fond memories of visiting there with my Auntie M and Uncle.

If its anything like the garden I volunteer at, then the weeds are to be expected.  No visitors = no income = no money to pay gardeners, so they get furloughed. Once gardeners are furloughed then all volunteers are banned (furlough rules say you cannot replace workers that are being paid for from govt funds by volunteers......seems very sensible).  So all the weeding will have had to be done by the two chaps that own it - quite an undertaking.

So, when visiting these places, we need to make allowances.  The first visitors through the gates fund the return of the paid gardeners, which then unlocks the army of volunteers......and order will soon be returned 😀😀😀

Morning, flying visit, lots to do today.....

So kind of your friends @Busy-Lizzie, will take the initial sting out of the first view on arrival.  :)

Glad you like the deck - tables are allegedly arriving today between 11 and 3pm - no pressure!!!! I can tell you I used some new French swear words to get that to happen. I do have a back up plan, a friend, a local restauranteur is not opening up as a restaurant now, he's decided to do takeaway only because of all the restrictions so he is letting me borrow his tables if needed. They are not pretty, but they will do, so kind of him to offer, we do have a lovely supportive community here.

Right, mad day ahead, already had breakfast, off to water my new flowers, I hope my first visitors will make allowances, builders debris/big footprints and 40 degrees all thrown at them this week!

I'll send a photo of tables if they arrive, if not wine! :)

    Good day all.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
    That’s a shame @Hostafan1 , especially on a working day 🙄
Fingers crossed for the timely arrival of the tables @D0rdogne_Damsel 🤞
Sounds like a lovely day @Busy-Lizzie ... we love East Ruston ... I think if @WonkyWomble has a dream job it’s to work there full time. They sell very good plants too ... Wonky bought some fabulous climbing roses there. Very kind of your French friends 😊
