...incidentally, if anyone has a rose that needs a kick up the xxxx… I do recommend this product... Maxicrop sequestered iron with seaweed...  I had a young Desdemona rose that was doing absolutely nothing.. I had moved it and it was almost half dead.. I thought I might remove it to cut my losses, but gave it a root drench with this... it started to shoot out after a couple of weeks before the warm weather arrived, and of course some warm weather has helped recently, but it's even got buds now...
Thanks for the tips @Marlorena ! I have some roses that have been badly neglected. They were covered with bindweed last year, my husband sprayed roundup on the bindweed but i think some of it got on the roses. I'm in the process of bringing them back from the brink! I've been giving them Maxicrop seaweed extract and there are some tiny shoots coming out but it's going to be a long road back. They have lost all of their leaves but the branches are green so there is hope (I think!) Going to try the sequestered iron and see how it goes. 👍👍👍

...best of luck with that @Safflower
… I've just dished this up to one of my roses.. spent tea is very useful.. I never throw it away..

...this beautiful strong tea scented rose is 'Lolabelle' [but I actually think it's something else, but never mind]..

'Scepter'd Isle'.. first bloom, which I don't find at all typical actually .. very strongly scented of myrrh.. I love it but not everyone does..  less thorny and a more consistent bloom season than Gertrude Jekyll..

Hi @Marlorena, I am a big fan of your posts, photos and advice. I have been looking at yellow roses for a while and very much like the look of your Venessa Bell and I would also like to keep it in a pot. Could you please tell me what sort of soil you use and what aspect it would like please and maybe the best place to purchase it? I will definitely use some of your feeding tips as I must confess my roses are never that great  :(   t i a , keep up the good work.

As I take an insane number of pictures, I thought it best to start my own thread, rather than clutter up any other... if anyone is looking in, thank you, and I hope you see something of interest... I aim to keep this going for maybe 5 or 6 weeks...
My roses are not for everybody, but I have some unusual ones this year, so let's see how that goes.
I do not spray roses and tolerate just about everything that's living here...

Some years are best forgotten, this is one... I'm trying to pretend it never happened.. maybe you are too.. ?
I love these lavender Tulips, they've been in flower for exactly a month.. they might be called 'Alibi', but label gone missing..

'Zephirine Drouhin' [Bourbon 1868] just starting main flush.. growing over a Daphne bush..

    'Desdemona' and 'Anne Boleyn' roses..

    ..another shot of 'Anne Boleyn'..

'Mme. Lauriol de Barny' [Bourbon 1868]

..with 'Kew Gardens'... full flush in about a week I think..

    ..more to follow..
