Afternoon all. Have submitted 2 of the 3 tax returns - gearing up for doing the third. Will be so glad to get that job out of the way. I think both OH and I are of reasonable intelligence (and I used to work for them🤭) but the wording of some of the HMRC questions is so ambiguous. Not a job to savour but a good one for a cold day. At least I'll be able to go out to play with a clear conscience when it warms up in a day or two.

Thanks for posting the quiz last night LB. Quite annoyed not to have known the old name for Cambridge - thought I was a local history nerd - obviously not!

Ante - those rolls looked yummy this morning. Nothing quite like a hot fresh roll with loads of butter melting into it.

Debs - good to see you. Cutting laminate doesn't sound much fun. I think a bathroom is probably the most difficult room in the house to decorate. Lots of cutting in and around to be done with paint and no room to put step ladders without hitting the toilet, basin or bath. Bit of a 'mare when you're only 5' tall and can't reach stuff.

Debating whether or not to visit a GC tomorrow. Could do with a couple of shrubs and maybe a couple of tomato plants. The ones I've grown from seed just don't smell right so I'm concerned the toms won't be nice. They're a no-name cherry cordon and all I could get hold of at seed sowing time. Just not sure if I can be bothered with queuing to get in only to find they haven't got what I want...

Afties all. Gosh T'Bird you will feel so much better once that 3rd return is finished. Yviestevie, you were lucky to be frost free this morning. It was definitely brrrr here. Speaking of tomatoes T'Bird. My sister sent me this pic today:
Guess which are the T&M peas and which are from L**l. The aggravating thing is that  I've sown the same pea seeds from T&M as my sis, so I guess I might be in for a disappointment too. I've made a note for next season. We chose those patio peas independently, mine were on offer through Gardeners World.

My peas aren't looking too great either LB but I think that might be down to either bird or slug damage. Don't think this little cold snap will haven't done much for stuff either.
    Hey ho - that's gardening!

Right third tax return is DONE!!!!  🍾🍾🍾  That one was easier because it's on paper and I can practise doing it in pencil first...

Think a reward is in order this evening. Cheers!

I was completely dazzled by the sun when I went out for the clap for carers. Lots more cars tooted tonight which was very cheery. I didn't hear any fireworks tonight though.
    Cheers SGL!
