Our garden is very dry ... this bed only gets the sun in the afternoon ... look what it was like by 3:15 pm

I’ve just put the sprinkler on it.

@raisingirl ... we watched that last night ... It was hysterical wasn’t it 🤣

We always watch it. Hubby has DVDs back for years, Can’t remember. When he started. We always get a good laugh.  Sorry sbout the underlining. Bed time.

There was a polite cough from over my shoulder when I was filling the bird feeder after tea.  A curious bullock, newly arrived in the field over the wall, was sticking his head through a gap in the hedge to see what I was doing.   :)  I'm not attempting the local brogue, @chicky, neither to the cows nor the locals, though I've adopted the useful reply "Grand, thanks!" to the question "And how are ye?"  I thought "begorrah" and "bejaysus" were mock Irish brogue, invented by the British, but I've heard both since we moved in...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    back home now.
A mixture of folk tootling about at 50% of the speed limit as they've actually got nowhere to go, and boy racer types overtaking at 90mph. On balance at least the boy racers get out the fllippin way quickly

Glad it wasn’t too bad @Hostafan1 and at least you didn’t have to pull a boy racer out of a dyke 🙄

it’s been gorgeous here and UH hav been a star putting up bean canes and planting out sweet peas ... digging over a new bed and weeding and hoeing. I’ve been in charge of tea, coffee, the hosepipe and sprinkler and made a lovely lunch involving our first little gem lettuce and broad beans
... and I made some sourdough loaves with a 40 year old starter from the Lake District.

    See above 😉

I spoke to a guy whose Mum had a customer in her filling station this week. They'd driven from Sheffield to Bodmin to pick up two bikes they'd bought on ebay.
She told them they should be here, they just shrugged their shoulders and left.

Evening. Nice little gem @Dovefromabove - mine aren’t quite ready yet but I’d be pleased as punch to get one as big and healthy as that!

Looking forward to my week off. I have a few vegetable plants to give to my Dad and Sister so, I hope I can arrange to deliver those in a manner which is in ‘the rules’ (eg. do Dad’s food shop and deliver together).

Hope everyone is ok. Cuppa, podcast and sleep for me.

Hope you enjoy your week off AuntyRach.

Dove, that lettuce and sour dough look absolutely smashing.

They were plugs Planted first week in April
    from Gardeners Kitchen online @AuntyRach
Not cheap but impressive quality. They were in great condition when they arrived.

Son has had his van for sale ... he and his colleagues have had no government money ... they don’t fit into any of the categories but as they work  in events management, production, sound and communications etc they’re unlikely to have any work until next year at the earliest ... he had a buyer for his van at the asking price (nearly £1000 less than what it’s worth) but the buyer is in Bristol ... it can’t happen ... 🙄

Anyway ... time for bed (says Zebedee) ... so night night all, sleep tight ... it’s been a good day here, all things considered ... 🥱
