@D0rdogne_Damsel my paternal Gt Gpa was a village baker from a long line of bakers ... my Gma (his daughter) started me baking when I was small so it’s always been something that I’ve done. I made all the family bread when @WonkyWomble was a child and now I’m retired I’m doing it again ... much nicer than most shop bread, even the ā€˜good’ stuff and much much cheaper of course. But now there’s a yeast shortage and I’d always promised myself I’d get to grips with sourdough now I’ve more time so ... šŸ‘©ā€šŸ³

Morning all/afties Pat if you're there
Haven't read back properly. Hope @Yviestevie and @punkdoc are getting somewhere with elderly mums and inlaws.Ā
Nice here again, so I went out at half seven to avoid all the idiots. Even then - there was still a guy with his dug and a wean just standing, not making any attempt to move, so I stopped until he got the message. Sigh...
Hawthorn only just greening up here @Busy-Lizzie , and even that's a lot earlier. Nice to see some of the trees getting 'foliaged up' a bit earlier too. The wild garlic is starting to appear too- the little white flowers beginning to open. Lovely and bright in the dewy verges.
All the leaden skies yesterday came to nothing here apart from a dozen large raindrops. Perfect temp for me, never higher than fifteen. Hope today is the same. I sowed seeds and shifted soil [the new pond contents] so that's another job, and it made a useful mulch for the hedge. Grass cutting today I think. My newest clem is opening - macro Lemon Dream. I love it. A little blue tit was picking out the jute string on it yesterday - just like the one a couple of days ago. They're all very busy with bits of moss as well, and they've taken all the 'hair' I put out. Youngest fairylet has very long, 'shedding'Ā  hairĀ  :D
Hope the aches and pains are getting better for everyone suffering.Ā

@Dovefromabove Interesting. Yes please, pm me the link for the cooking forum, I will enjoy reading about different experiences. I normally don't have time to bake bread (or participate in chat forums :) ) but these are weird times and I actually enjoy having a bit more time for good home cooking. You are right that homemade bread can't be compared with anything from shops.

No - not seen her @Dovefromabove. I know she was having bother, but I expect the internet is the bigger problem for her, unless the painkillers aren't working... :/
A good day here - albeit cloudy a fair bit of the time. I wonder if my sister got the hailstones today. I know my nephew did the other day too. That's what they get for living on 'the dark side'Ā  [Edinburgh side ]Ā  Mind you, it's not that unusual for us to have snow/sleet here in May.Ā
Got my grass cut, and a few other grafting jobs done.Ā

Hi folks,Ā  No news from the Home today so no contact with mum.Ā  Will try again tomorrow.Ā  Twinkle the hedgehog managed to escape this morning and set up home under the bed settee.Ā  It took a while to find him and and then we had to upend the settee in order to get to him.Ā  As it's really heavy it rarely gets moved so we took the opportunity to give it a good clean underneath. He is now safe in his box awaiting release this evening.
Had a delivery of four new troughs that will go down the side of the conservatory.Ā  I've filled them with compost and have spent some time today planting some of the plants I've grown from seed.Ā  Some of the tulips have now gone over so I've removed them from the containers and planted them in the garden.Ā  All in all got quite a bit done despite the stiff neck which is a lot better today.
    Hope @Obelixx is OK.
@Punkdoc how are things with you.
