Thanks Obelixx, Glad your daughter's okay. That sounds like a hell of a round trip for you, I remember you mentioned it before. Is that about 600 miles (can't think in metric!) or more.
Now you've done it it @Fairygirl!! I'll never do that journey again without the Proclaimers in my head!
Altogether now ...# and I would walk 500 miles, and I would walk 500 more.... The day I did my 100th Munro, when I was driving home, they were on with lovely Simon Mayo. I think I sang it quite a bit on that journey back
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
@Fairygirl I find certain songs get stuck in my head in the garden and then every time I revisit that particular spot they come back. Underneath the Apple Tree is one when I weed the rose garden 'underneath the apple tree'. Having to move roses at pace the other day before builder got to them I found myself humming I Never Promised You a Rose Garden and again today when the builder was knocking down my wishing well next to my favourite Blue for You rose it came back into my head.
Good to see you @Obelixx, glad to hear Possum is feeling better. You confused me with the new feet comment, surely you didn't actually get new feet, amazing if you did, but I had never heard of new feet: knees, hips, shoulders....
Busy, busy day today, suits me, hanging around with no sense of purpose really gets me down. Last couple of days I have been in the garden one way or another from dawn til dusk. Busy at CdeG but also trying to get the garden here at Charlie's dad's house tidy and manageable before I have to go back home.
On the driveway in there was a border that used to shield the view of the pool. Unfortunately it had escaped him and he had been unable to get to that side of the pool for a couple of years to clean it. The only thing to be done was rip it out and start again. It was full of iris and lavender and four bushes that had completely taken over. The bushes had to go, the lavender was ancient so had to go too but I've spilt the iris and got rid of the old ones and found some lavender in Lidl just by chance for 2€ a pot. I managed to dig out the original stones that formed a mini wall, hosed them down, peeled the weed roots off them and reset them and then I've edged it all with some marigolds we grew from seed. It now looks very bare, it is a very steep slope so not ideal, but the lavender and iris love the dry hot bed, I just need to keep on stop of the weeds and look at a way to stop the soils washing down over the stones again.
Here's some pics, the first one in 2015, the second one today. I didn't take a picture of what it was like when I got here 2 months ago, but you couldn't see much in the overgrowth. Hopefully it will fill out a bit over summer and not get out of hand again.
Really ought to go to bed, long day again tomorrow.
Good night all.

We came home from the farm shop via a scenic detour through the village where Munnings grew up ... riverside meadows with cows and their calves up to their middles in buttercups ... so good for the soul. My first trip out, other than to the farm shop and back since 5 March.
I was so tired last night I went to bed at 8pm and slept until a little while ago.
Will have to catch up with Springwatch and GW today.

Morning @Dovefromabove, your little detour sounds delightful. The first day Charlie went out after 2 months he noticed so much more than he would have normally, lovely.
Veggie patch watered, beautiful calm morning and nicely warm at the moment. It's a good job @Fairygirl doesn't live here, it's reached 30 degrees for about 5 days and no let up that I can see for the next 5, @Hostafan1 would be in his element.

I'm glad my two live with me, especially with their issues.

Good night all.
Heard from daughter tonight, she sounded okay so I'm very relieved.
I am just happy to be working again and actually, losing weight instead of putting it on, all good exercise.
Right, really must go to bed.

I hope @punkdoc is on the mend, hugs.
Staff meeting/party tomorrow afternoon so I need to get organised with a little buffet.
Have a good day all.
Glad we're all being busy in our own ways.
I might hit the tunnel shortly before it gets too warm in there.
