I'm beyond wordsĀ re that thread @AuntyRach. I heard on the radio the other day that banging your head off the wall for half an hour uses 150 calories. I might be able to work off that rhubarb crumble and custard then....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I have tried to explain, I have tried to educate, I thought I might be providing some help [ thanks for the very kind PM's I have received ], but some people are just too thick. Time for me to leave that thread again. Thanks for what you are doing @AuntyRach, some of us are very grateful. Glad your dad is ok. @chicky
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
We can explain until we are blue in the face but sometimes itās because they just donāt want to understand and sometimes its because they canāt. š
Morning all,Ā That looks like the perfect spot there @Dovefromabove and the perfect way to get gardening done @punkdoc, you too, 'pointing' definitely the way to go.Ā As long as they meet your standards of course.Ā
Busy day yesterday, re-organised the Tearoom kitchen cupboards and the layout on the computer to be more ergonomic and ordered the equipment needed to make it happen. It is quite nice having a blank canvas as it were to do it and the time. I am not having to rush the plasterer or the electrician because I am worried about getting open. I have organised a socially distanced staff meeting next week too, in one of the girl's garden so we can go through all the changes and plan our re-opening and how we can deal with keeping everyone safe. As we are in a 'green zone', there is a possibility we might be allowed to open in June but nothing definite arranged yet.Ā
Then spent the rest of the day sifting soil to get all the bits of white bindweed root out, I have never seen such big roots and then moving plants around. I am emptying 2 big flowerbeds so they can be turfed over. It's a shame but with no 'gardener' here it is just unmanageable. The two/three flowerbeds that are staying I have said I will look after once a week when I am back at work, it would be such a shame to dig them all over, there is such a wonderful collection of plants here. I have really thoroughly weeded them and cut back a lot of stuff so hopefully it won't be too much work if they are dealt with regularly. Charlie is going to look after the veggie patch. We'll see how it goes.Ā
Colorado Beetle catching is going very well, 7 yesterday and 1 Lily Beetle.Ā open_mouth:
I am going to read back some more, catch up later.Ā
Good day to everyone.Ā
āCoffee. Garden. Coffee. Does a good morning need anything else?ā āBetsy CaƱas Garmon
Good morning @D0rdogne_Damsel and everyone else as you arrive š āļøĀ
Youāve been very busy ... as usual šĀ Not a bad night really ... I didnāt wake properly until around 4:30 and then I sat in the garden and listened to the remains of the dawn chorus Ā while the kettle boiled and the paracetamol worked.Ā
Gardening in Central NorfolkĀ on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning @Dovefromabove and @D0rdogne_Damsel Been awake since 4. I don't even have aches and pains to keep me awake like you Dove, although it was my itchy hands which woke me. I really hope you can get opened up in summer @D0rdogne_Damsel. That will help you enormously - in every way. How are Charlie's lettuces - have they taken over the world yet?Ā
