Morning all/afties Pat. @Allotment Boy- @Dovefromabove or @Obelixx will be able to help you with your yeastĀ Ā Wet here, and up to take daughter to work. The buses are quite unreliable just now. It didn't turn up on Tuesday night. She already has to wait about 40 mins when she finishes and it still hadn't appeared at 9pm. I think I may be taxi-ing a good bit for the foreseeable. I can just imagine the reply when @D0rdogne_Damsel explains the reality of his abundant lettuce sowing.....

Good morning all š āļø Hope all are ok. Another fine morning here āļøĀ
@Allotment Boy ...Ā Hmm š¤ you can make a āspongeā (aka ālevainā or āPolishā) not sure you can do that with dried yeast. I only know that done with live yeast or sourdough.Ā
There is also a way of taking a piece of dough and keeping that to use as a starter, but again Iāve only known that done with sourdough. Ā
You can make a sourdough starter, which doesnāt need any bought yeast at all, Ā but you need to start making that probably a week before (this is what weāre going to do when weāre getting close to using all our yeast).Ā
A delicious form of bead can be made using beer (which of course contains yeast) instead of bakersā yeast and several of my foodie friends have tried it and really like it.Ā
Got up to thick fog this morning. Was quite shocked to see it as I have been so used to sun for the past week or so. Weather has spoilt me I suppose.
@D0rdogne_Damsel looks like a budding gardener there. Hope he enjoys all his veg when it's time to eat it šĀ I fell I to the same trap with seeds. One year, not many came through of a certain type (I cannot recall) so the following year I spread the whole packet into the tray. They all came through š¤£š¤£
It was my day off yesterday and it was such a lovely day. I am back at work this morning them going to physc myself up and go to the Supermarket afterwards. May as well when out and about rather than making a special trip over the weekend, where I intend to stay in until I am back on Tuesday.
Good for you @PurpleRose. If only others would use that basic common sense about making journeys.Ā Yes - misty, murky, damp and dreichĀ here. Been quite a bit of rain overnight - lots of puddles everywhere. Garden looks very refreshed, and I think the back grass has benefited after it's feed recently. It's suddenly very greenĀ Ā

Beautiful again and apparently 21 degrees later, hotter again tomorrow.
I have been watering the plants I moved everyday and they seem to have adjusted, some actually showing signs of growth so that's good news. They might survive now as long as I keep watering. The transplanted little plug plants are looking very perky this morning too.Ā
I know I shouldn't take much notice of gossip & hearsay, especially the online kind, but there does seem to be a feeling that our lockdown could well go on until the end of May, and actually I can see how that might be necessary. Just a daunting thought for the Tearoom, although getting sick is equally daunting. I may well have to plan a total garden makeover...keep my mind busy.Ā
Was wondering how all your children and grandchildren are dealing with all this @Busy-Lizzie ? You must be missing them, thank goodness for our gardens, they certainly keep us busy in mind and body.Ā
Have a good day all, really enjoying all the chatter even if I don't mention everyone, nice to see more people on here too, all very interesting. Btw @Pat E I have started doing some jigsaws online, I am a bit slow at the moment but can see how addictive they might become.Ā
āCoffee. Garden. Coffee. Does a good morning need anything else?ā āBetsy CaƱas Garmon
Morning all. Cloudy with blue bits. @D0rdogne_DamselĀ My children, all in France, have gardens, thank goodness. Only son 2 lives in a town. Daughters are teachers, having to do lessons on the computer. They are OK but it is a worrying time for them. Son 1 is a managing director of a big company so that is a worry and Son 2 is a dentist so he can't work at the moment. Dentists are self employed in France and I don't think the government has made any provisions.
It is granddaughter's birthday today, daughter of daughter 2.
I've done jigsaws on line, it is addictive! I don't do the ones with masses of pieces, just the 24 - 70 pieces with pretty pictures. I have named myself after a rose.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
@Busy-Lizzie- the Jigsaw Planet site allows you to select the number of pieces for a jigsaw, so if you don't fancy doing one with huge number of pieces, you can alter it to below 100. I do that with a lot of them, and I tend to make all mine under 100 when I put them on the site.Ā

Gardening in Central NorfolkĀ on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
