    Oh - poor Lewis @Obelixx :(
I'm very fond of him. He's got a great sense of humour too.
Your tea sounds nice. Good on you doing the masks.
There was a lovely item on the news about a young couple who are making them [full facial ones] on their 3D printer. They've had enough donations to get another two, to up their production. Lovely story.  :)

    Evening.
I’m not sure where my day went...been in garden most of the day but only done small jobs, so I suppose the tea drinking and daydreaming took up more time than I thought!

Just doing some home-made burgers here as I have some rolls to use up.

Hope you are all tickety-boo. Enjoy your evening grub everyone.

Been a beautiful day here.  Have just finished dinner in the garden with a large G&T.  Have done a fair bit in the garden but have obviously overdone it as I can't now move my hand.  Have taken some tablets and used high strength ibruprofen gel but it hasn't touched it.  Next step will be some Arthrotec (which they don't prescribe any more) I have a small supply and only use it when I'm desperate.  The garden is looking lovely today lots of tulips have opened and the forget me nots have flowered.

He is not alone @Fairygirl.  loads of stuff on the radio by people who can't sing and, for some reason, they really like Lady Gaga here and she's a dreadful screecher.

Hope things have settled with your Mum punkdoc.  Are you alowlled to make your own masks, then dont they have to be proper surgical ones?
  • Hello all, lovely day here and spent most of it in the garden with Charlie. He's cut the grass, I won't say lawn...and planted his veggie seeds and plug lettuces. He's very happy he's going to get 1200 lettuces and 300 leeks from his seeds. 🤣 I did try to explain..

It's been a lovely day here as well but I've just pottered, did some watering, potted up hellebores and pulled down old dead ivy strands from a viburnum. Contemplating pruning one long branch shorter to make it shoot out lower down thus getting flowers at eye level - hopefully! Thanks for all the comments re turmeric, interesting that they seem to work for some but not for others. Have ordered some from Holland & Barrett just to try for a couple of months. I'm a bit sceptical but we'll wait and see. We're just having left over steak pie tonight, getting a bit low on dinners! Might have to shop again tomorrow.

@Nanny Beach you need surgical masks when caring for patients with Covid-19 or other diseases.  The home-made masks are fine for short exposures and to prevent us spreading the virus, not so good against catching it so constant vigilance on the personal hygiene and social distancing still needed. for quite some time.

@D0rdogne_Damsel - he'll be less than thrilled if he does get 1200 lettuces to prick out!

We braved the SM shop today, didn't quite get 2 weeks out of last one as we had to get milk & a bit of extra salad at the end of last week. Anyway as we approached the head of the queue we noticed they were only allowing people in singly, they stopped 2 women going in together. Luckily the person in front of us had not moved up fully so when she did move we were able to separate, when inside I picked up a basket and went through a separate checkout at the end. There was plenty of everything except cleaning products. We did get extra milk but in 2 pint containers so we can freeze some, so we should be able to go more than 2 weeks now except for bread.
So question to all you expert bakers we have flour but only one sachet of dried yeast. If I reconstitute the yeast and "feed" it with sugar can I get it to grow so we can keep it longer & use for more than one loaf?
