I remember hearing that at the start of the 20th century, either 8%, or might have been 12%Ā of every ship on the planet had been built on the Clyde. Either way, if it's true, that's a pretty impressive total.Ā
I remember a friendās wedding at Gourock just along the road fromĀ Greenock ... entertainment provided by Deacon Blue who were friends of the bride ... that really was some weekend!Ā
Good morning.Ā Didn't see the moon last night as we had light cloud cover but it was eerily bright at 3am - woken by a playful cat!
@chicky - OH asked me if we were decorating for Easter this year.Ā Used to do it when Possum was small with lots of little eggs hanging form branches.Ā Gave them all to the maternelle section of the village school before we moved.Ā Ā Great way to celebrate hugging littlest chick again tho.
@Busy-Lizzie love your little arbour and the colour.Ā Ā
Painting for me today and then some seed sowing.Ā OH is mowing grass before the rain comes later on.
Stay safe everyone.Ā Hope you have good gardening weather.
@Obelixx meant to ask how Possum was now .....feel for you on the remote comfort front ā¹ļø Ā I think the worst thing is knowing you canāt come home even if you want to. Ā She probably wouldnāt want to, but the fact that the option is taken away makes you feel a bit trapped. Ā Hope sheās found a way round the impasse š¤š»
My family tree includes one bloke who got a free ride to Tasmania from Scotland, because he was charged with rape! Ā Ā Canāt remember his name. Itāll be on Hubbyās records of genealogy. š³
Trouble is @chicky I warned her she should come home while she could but no, important meetings to attend and then lockdown and now, week 4, she wants to come home but can't.Ā Hoping she'll chat to OH later as I clearly set her off.Ā Ā
Can we just send you the rest of the 'warmers' we still have @Pat E?Ā Ā Warmer - not pronounced like warm. The 'a' is an 'ahhhh'Ā
It is indeed a small world, but I hate to tell you @epsilonsage - 'southsiders' are much better than those from the north sideĀ I always find it odd when you hear people pronounce Bearsden - 'Beers-den'. Why would you? Glasgow has a very strong 'shipyard/shipbuilding' heritage, so it's not surprising there are so many engineers etc all over the place.Ā I've been very busy already. It's nice and bright, gentle breeze, so it's lovely. A bit of faint sun too, and a 33 on the 1st round of Popmaster. Get me eh?Ā
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I remember seeing Eider ducks but donāt recall much more Ā š³Ā
Gardening in Central NorfolkĀ on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
