Suits me @KT53 !  Agree @raisingirl.  It's disproportionate and then therefore rather more than irritating and not at all a simple pleasure @punkdoc

All this downtime has me sorting out directories on my PC.  Cripes!

And it's on every news bulletin. It still is, even though there isn't any actual football being played anywhere.

Champions League coverage is mainly on BT Sport and Sky.  MOTD and MOTD2 is a total of about 2 1/2 hours coverage per week which is hardly saturation coverage.  Crappy soaps get at least 10 times as much air time.

    I don't watch soaps either!

Can I contrast the coverage of sport with that of culture?
I bet far more tickets are sold to folk going to see opera in this country than to  folk going to see women's football,  cricket  or netball combined.
The UK has had 4 new Opera houses built in the last few years . These haven't been built on a whim.
The last opera shown on terrestrial TV on was on Dec 25th 2017
I'm so glad there's no Olympics, World Cup, World cup rugby on TV. I wish it was ALL on a separate channel . Most folk I know who love football HAVE sky , stick it all on there.

Well said Hostafan, I agree with you. My pet hate is when the programmers just shove off scheduled programmes (like Gardeners World) and run sport ones instead - particularly the darts ones, I mean, really, how many people sit down and watch that. I am also so fed up of food programmes, why can't we have more gardening ones.

I would like more gardening programmes too and am not averse to a bit of culture either. Maybe I am just greedy.
