Part of the problem arises if it's necessary to go to somewhere other than your 'normal' supermarket. The layout will be different to your normal one so there will be many lost souls wandering around without the faintest idea where to find what's on their list.
One person in our local co-op did seem to think that the queue for the tills didn't apply to them until the system was explained to them in clear and simple language by one of the staff.
I've just had that problem @KT53 - I was one of the lost souls an hour ago! We do use the small Tesco in the village but not for big shops like we're having to do now, so finding it difficult. It doesn't help when the staff have re-arranged the goods from where they used to be! I feel guilty as well doing a trolley full which of course takes time and holds up the queue but needs must.
Someone at our local Sainsbury's posted that they would be happy to see everyone with full trolleys so that they know people aren't shopping too frequently. She said anyone turning up at the till with just an Easter Egg and a bar of chocolate would not be appreciated!
Once a week here and full trolley. I've been impressed with how well the locals are following the rules about spacing and queuing at the tills and even when wandering about the aisles. No arrow system in our SM but it is more spacious than any Tesco I've seen in the UK, or Waitrose come to that.

And now the internet is playing up A quick call to the provider and they can't find a fault but can see that it cut out 52 times yesterday I can work around it but my wife has clients booked for Skype sessions tomorrow.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
Finally some good news. My energy provider has sent me an email to say they're switching me to a cheaper tarif to save me money during the virus lockdown.
