Lockdown is turning into a moral maze. An engineer is supposed to be calling to arrange to come and fix my washing machine but as I have a workable fix for it that means we can get by for now is it considered justified travel and risk for both of us? Oddly my new system seems to be getting things cleaner than it did when it was fully functioning too.
Also a plant that I really want has come up for sale on Ebay. The seller seems happy to post it but really I should either ask them if I can pay for it now but they keep growing it until the situation improves or just pass on it and hope one comes up for sale later in the year.
On a more ridiculous level we were chatting to the neighbour over the wall today and she mentioned the moss in her lawn was getting bad. I offered to lend her my moss rake and handed it over at arms length to maintain the distance and we laughed about her having to wash it down with soap and how rude it all would have seemed a few weeks ago.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
I spoke to a friend last night . His grandmother was taken to hospital early last week with Covid-19 , 3 days later his Dad was taken in too. On Sunday his Gran died. Dad's not looking great .
My BBC wildlife magazine just got shoved through the door. This flyer was inside. Probably a harmless bit of British humour when they thought of it a few months ago but now...

I think much of the adverse reaction to Premier League footballers in particular at present is that their clubs had furloughed many of the lower paid employees whilst those earning 10's and in some cases 100's of thousands of pounds per week were continuing to get their full pay. Many of the current players have never known what it's like to be short of cash in their adult life as you get 18 year olds being paid thousands of pounds per week. The old world of junior players cleaning senior players boots, cleaning the dressing rooms etc seems to be a distant memory.
Brains are funny things. I haven't had an arctic roll in years but now I can't get one I really fancy it.
I was stood in the queue to check out of the supermarket this morning (making sure to observe the distance marking of course), when my eye was caught by... Artic Roll ! I haven't had one for years, but when l saw it, l had to have one. A little while later as l moved further up the queue, l heard the thud of the freezer door closing behind me. I have a feeling l've started a trend Forget loo rolls, there will be an Arctic roll shortage any minute.
Maybe this is the problem, all the queues are by the freezers. We had an Arctic roll on order for delivery on Monday but it was among many items that were either not delivered or substituted. They sent a raspberry roulade. It's not the same

And all those vulgar expensive watches and equally vulgar cars don't come cheap . I watched a documentary about Chelsea training ground the the commentator said . " I've just watched £200,000,000 worth of players arrive in £20,000,000 worth of cars. "
At least he’s helping small independent traders to keep going during these difficult times ... it must be hard for them to keep up with passing trade ... they'll all be jogging 🏃 🏃

On another matter entirely - anyone know where the reset button is? Return to factory settings might be a bit extreme at this stage but always a useful last resort if it doesn't work.

PS Don't forget, footballers have important things to spend their money on in these troubled times
