What a lovely selection @Victoria Sponge, I'm not sure I've seen most of those on here so when you please show them it will be a treat. Loads of us seem to have ordered a lot this season so next year will be very interesting.
@londondesi100, I’m not really sure how TCL organise their deliveries, this is the first time I have ordered so early to make sure a couple I really wanted were still in stock. I normally order some time over winter and get them delivered around February. Last year my order was really late and when I queried it they said they were waiting on one rose coming in, which was a bit weird as they grow all their own (I thought). Maybe some specimens weren’t up to standard or they has oversold that one so had to buy one in. No idea!
SW has bloomed non-stop since mid April, it almost equals Julia Child in bloom power, which is saying something as JC is incredible. SW has a semi-double bloom, a short climber I have fanned out against a fence. No fragrance, well, a faint spicy whiff of cloves occasionally. I have been waxing lyrical about it all summer so the regular contributors on here will be yawning reading this!!
Welcome back @Victoria Sponge! My Beales roses also had some grotty, blackspotted foliage on, seems a bit lazy not to remove it before sending them out, if only from a presentational point of view. Have defoliated them.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
@Marlorena I was going to plonk them in a hole but now most of the leaves are on my kitchen floor as I struggled to wrap them back in the plastic so effectively defoliated Have put them outside and will put in a bucket tomorrow as it's getting on for dusk.
@Tack yes, I'm excited to see other peoples new roses as much as my own. Exciting times especially as all spaces for these are already prepped - still got 3 spaces for my other orders that I need to sort out but it involves moving some big plants.
Thanks @Nollie, I've still got my Beales order to come but I ordered that one later so might give me a few weeks grace to get prepared. Looking forward to seeing everyone's deliveries when they arrive!
I'm planning to get these roses for the pillars of my veranda: Tess of the
d’Urbervilles, Golden showers, Blush Noisette and Ghislaine de
Féligonde. I know that GdF is pretty thornless. What about the others - any of these roses have fierce thorns? TIA.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.

And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
@Eustace - I’ve had my worst cuts from Ghislaine de Feligonde! She always manages to catch me. New growth is covered in prickles but some of these prickles can be quite nasty - like scores of little red scimitars. It’s if you move in the wrong direction against them. Other sections lower down are smooth.
@Eustace I have a grown-up Blush Noisette and I don't think I've ever had issues with the thorns. Mine is pretty self supporting though so I only mess about with it once or twice a year. It's by no means vicious.
re TCL -- for what its worth , I ordered 5 or 6 days ago and had an email today to say would be dispatched end November ( I'd asked for a rough idea in the comment section of the order form)
It looks like everything is slightly delayed now. I am waiting for three orders - Trevor White, Beales and TCL, all placed in August.

Not sure about the others.
