@Omori, i will have to keep it in a pot for a few years. I am getting some roses to just enjoy fragrant flowers on patio.

Has anyone an email confirming delivery from TCL? Im getting super excited and want to know when they'll turn up!

@Katsa, no news yet from TCL yet and I ordered in August. I did get my Peter Beales order though, all good except a little disappointed in Alexander, only two canes plus a tiny 2mm skinny one that can’t really be called a cane. I’m sure it will be fine, but not what I would call A Grade, never had that from TCL even though they are a quarter of the price!

@Nollie That's good to know. I did send them an email to ask, but I imagine they're hugely busy at the moment. I'll just leave them be and keep my fingers crossed the roses arrive soon!

@Marlorena - so lovely to hear from you! I too have been spammed by DA, but have been pretty good at deleting the emails before I get too tempted :-) Definitely post more photos when you have a chance - I love your garden!

@londondesi100 I've bought from cottage memories and can really rate them. The roses are good quality and have really grown over the season.

  • @Nollie - your stormy weather looks gorgeous.
@Katsa - thank you for following up re cottage memories -- next season !

Also -- re TCL -- does this basically mean that if some folks ordered in August and I only just ordered last week -- my bare roots will arrive 2-3 months later than august orders ? ( I was essentially hoping that  as plants start being  ready to be lifted   in November , the first few weeks are dedicated to advance orders and i **should** only be a few weeks behind? ) Or am I overthinking everything as usual and it's all a bit random?

Hey guys, finally got back to the front of this thread after a turbulent couple of months, glad you are all doing well and welcome to anyone new :) Everyone still seems to have lots of flowers, me not really.

I haven't heard from TCL either and I first placed an order in August (and then added to it) I'm not concerned about it though.

@londondesi100 bare roots don't normally start to despatch until Nov so hopefully you wouldn't necessarily have to wait 2-3 months.  Just that any pre-order has to wait until that time but I suppose it is first come first served. Having said that, it's my first order from that supplier so who knows!  :)

I just received my order from Lens which was a bit of a surprise as yesterday the tracking still was at 'sorted for despatch'. I'll go onto another device and try and add picture.

I think they look alright. Walferdange is a bit spindly but has 4 spindles and I've never received bare roots with leaves before (Caroline's Heart has a hip!) so I wonder if I should temporarily dig them in rather than leave in the plastic or in a bucket. Any thoughts welcome. I'm working from home but am meant to be working, don't really have the daylight hours for planting properly until the weekend.

  • @Tack --- nice pictures and I'm now glad i ordered easy does it as one of my choices!
@Victoria Sponge - let's hope so -- I was hoping to be in-situ pre-Christmas else I shall have to go find something to stick in the pots in the meantime so neighbourhood cats don't start using them!

...they look good.. I think it's the first time I've seen bare roots from Lens..

..either / or.. for your temporary measure... you could plonk them all in one hole in the garden for now, or soak in water until the weekend... no problems with that..
