    I've heard you need to remove the white bit as that's bitter?

    Now we're all off to munch some rose petals...

    I was also drawn to Natalija @pitter-patter and Mystic. Am still tempted to yolo it and buy a couple. Only problem with growing roses is that it'll be a while to see whether they were worth it or not!

    I wish I could @Omori, all my roses are brand new so I've a garden full of sad looking bare roses...

    I’ve long been thinking about making rose petal chutney.. imagine having some Desdemona chutney or Munstead Wood chutney with the crackers at Christmas.. I wonder if they would retain their unique fragrance when preserved..
  • Thank you for the picture of Munstead Wood, I’m looking forward to that. It’s the only DA rose I have, trying them out for picking purposes.. Valerie

    @Marlorena

    Stunning as always 😊 how do you find your growth on LA? Mine is rather wide plant that forms a canopy. It's almost like a tree as opposed to a shrub
    I dont have a bloom on mine as yet, but I have hope for early next week as the weather warms

    @Jason-3
    ...Jason, mine is in a pot..  when in the ground it wanted to grow as a climber, and the canes drooped a bit due to weight of the blooms, looking downwards, which I didn't like too much.. they are more upright as the season goes on - less petals..
    ..as it's also mostly thornless, I thought raised in a pot would be better...where it's easy to manage, and looks down on me, rather than me looking down on it..
    ..oh, and thanks..
