Professor Dame Angela McLean's testimony from today of the UK COVID inquiry was compelling I thought. I liked her plain-speaking thinking and clarity of thought. She suggested that the first Lockdown was at least 2 weeks too late and I agree.
Sorry to witness the demise of the forum. 😥😥😥😡😡😡I am Spartacus
A lot of things are so much easier, in hindsight. As someone who was involved in some of the minor decision making, in another part of the planning, it was almost impossible at the time. Many of us did not agree with each other, and all had strong reasons for their views. There was no precedent when planning, and every possible solution had many possible outcomes. There is no doubt the Government did a lot wrong, but I have grave doubts any other Government would have done better. Maybe we will be better next time, and like many colleagues, I believe there will be a next time.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
"China is likely experiencing a major wave of childhood respiratory
infections now as this is the first winter after their lengthy lockdown,
which must have drastically reduced the circulation of respiratory
bugs, and hence decreased immunity to endemic bugs," said Prof Francois
Balloux of the University College of London Genetics Institute.
Sounds familiar This winter has been much easier with the kids so far. A few minor bugs but nothing like the mess we had last winter.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
I suppose it was inevitable I'd get it eventually.
Really annoying though that I got the original vaccine and two further boosters without much effort and yet now suddenly I'm just one year too young. I paid for my flu vaccine this year and would have been happy to pay for a Covid one too but that option doesn't exist for some strange reason.
