I had a surprise this afternoon, a text from the GP practice, "You are eligible for a COVID vaccination. Appointments available at our xxxx surgery on Saturday 7th October" and a link. I clicked and they had a few slots left, first thing in the morning or late-ish afternoon, so I'm booked in for just after 4pm tomorrow :-). It's further away than the local surgery that I normally go to and I suspect there's only limited parking, but I can walk there in less than an hour if I don't dawdle, which is OK on a Saturday. Given the short notice, maybe they had slots/doses left and were offering them to people a bit lower down the priorities, or maybe they've changed what counts as eligible.

I mentioned a while ago that it was highly likely that the age limit would be brought down, because cases are rising significantly. A mixture of strikes, + COVID could lead to a perfect Winter storm. It was also a bad flu season in Australia, so perhaps we better throw that in as well.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team

Thankfully my Wife and I had our Covid booster shots against the latest variants yesterday and they offered us the Flu vaccine at the same time. Given what you've said @punkdoc about a bad flu season in Australia and, given how these virus now travel across the globe at alarming rates I'm glad we said yes.

I don't think I'm in any of the groups identified there @Dovefromabove , but maybe there's some clinical judgement around the auto-immune stuff (as far as I know, my immune system isn't suppressed, just prone to attacking things that it shouldn't). They didn't offer me the spring boosters previously, just the autumn ones on age criteria. OH is 5 years older than I am, and he hasn't had an invitation. Anyway, they sent me an invitation and the system let me book an appointment, so if there's been a mistake it's not mine and once they've given it, they can hardly take it back! And if they refuse when I get there, at least I'll have had a good walk.

When I went to the cancer clinic in the week one of the doctors rather sharply asked me why I was wearing a mask. I said I didn't want to catch covid as I am in recovery from cancer and have other long term immunity problems going on. We were in small, crowded, enclosed rooms with no ventiliation. Everyone there was in cancer therapy. She said "oh, I thought you might have some horrible infection". Arch.
So odd coming from a doctor who is examining people post-surgery for tumour regrowth. No, she was not wearing a mask.
