Does it matter if you test or not @B3 and husband? Do you work or have vulnerable people around you?
I only say that because that’s what I recommended to various family members who don’t have any tests. They just stayed isolated (not that it’s even a requirement any longer) until the cold symptoms went, just to avoid passing “it” on.
We mix with some pretty elderly people in various U3a groups. We really don't want to spread any virus. I suppose it really doesn't matter what the virus is - best kept to ourselves.
That's the make of test which gave me a positive result yesterday, @LG_ and @B3 .
Rules are different in Ireland: following a positive covid test we must self-isolate for seven days, and continue to quarantine after that, if necessary, until we've had no symptoms for 48 hours.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I could accept a wait, if I could make an appointment. Our practice only makes appointments for that day and it's impossible to even get onto the phone queue.

Do they say what counts as symptoms? I know people who can't shift the cough from having it a year ago. I'm still not 100% yet and still cough sometimes.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
Pansy face and B3, I had to wait 5 weeks for a phone consult with a practice nurse, then panic,Dr came in after just a couple of minutes, was put into 2 week cancer pathway, got appointment in 3 working days,"changes" had occurred,ok at the moment, but I have to keep an eye,go back and see consultant!!! How, Hubby taken to hospital recently, has a quite serious health issues, has a phone appointment with GP in 2 months time. He used to work longer hours than he now does. We also had a satellite surgery in our village,we now go to the bigger one,in the next village. Practice nurse told me,"I'm a cheap Doctor".
Pansy face, the irony is..... there is a sign on our surgery door, saying they are accepting new patients!!! My oldest daughter lives 30 miles away in Tunbridge Wells and can always get an appointment with her GP face to face
They don't specify which symptoms, @wild edges. They just say "you can stop isolating after seven days if your symptoms are fully or mostly gone for the last 48 hours. It's ok to stop self-isolating even if you have a mild cough or changes to your sense of smell - these can last for weeks after the infection has gone." They also say you should wear a face covering and practise social distancing for three days after you stop self-isolating.

For those who take Vit D in the winter months, Vitabiotics are doing 50% off today to replace the usual 3 for 2 offer. I got enough to last the winter a month ago, so no use to me.
