I'm still guffawing about the four potatoes. It's the silliest story of the day. Are we allowed only four grains of rice, four coffee grounds, four peppercorns?
@Nanny Beach my son has had the virus I think he has certainly had the symptoms. He was unwell for 4 days with high temperature, sore throat and dry cough but is now fully recovered and bored sitting at home. He is a smoker 33 years old so not in a vulnerable group. Not belittling the risk but hope this puts things into perspective for some people.
I've had a nervous tummy every morning this week I'm sure its worry.this morning it's worse so I'm on the settee drinking water staying safe.ive stopped watching the news stopped going out.im a gardener but luckily my hubby can support us both and is working from home.all my customers are elderly and in poor health.i worry about them and who will be still here when I can start again?strange days.
Worry will do that but the virus hasn't replaced all of the normal ailments. Just do whatever you would have done to treat it a month ago. Hope you feel better soon.
I think all this still needs to be put in perspective. Obviously any death is lamentable and sad for all those concerned - but does anyone actually think about the 600,000 people who die annually in the this country anyway? No one does. You don't 'panic' over those numbers.
To take precautions is correct - we all take precautions in everything we do to reduce risk - we look when we cross roads, we stop smoking, we have flu jabs and vaccines...we... But look at the figures in light of what happens 'normally' anyway.
I think what will put people's minds a bit more at ease as well, is when the can get the anti-body test available. Once people realise that it's not 100+ deaths out of 2500+ cases, but more like 100+ deaths out of 'n',000 cases - and once people realise that people have had this without even being totally aware - then it calms people down.
It's not quite Monty Python's 'Bring out your dead' sketch.
