He swears he gets many more colds than I do because his office has the air-con set too cold.
It's probably because his office has air conditioning. Depends how it's designed, but quite a lot of mechanical vent systems are good at ensuring everyone gets a shot at every bug that anyone else in the room has. Some even let you take a chance with what everyone in the whole building has. If he travels on trains (or planes), he'll have an even higher exposure - they let you have a go at anything anyone on the whole train/plane has got

Ryanair says it filters the air conditioning so well that bugs can't get through. I wonder if they are correct.

I agree about trains - for three years or so I worked in Leeds and commuted by train and I've never had so many colds before or since (that was an open-plan air-conditioned office in a large building as well). And the worst chest infection I ever had I'm sure was picked up on a long-haul flight. Since I've been mostly working from home I haven't had a bad cold (or covid, at least not with symptoms). Fingers crossed, I generally don't catch the lurgies that OH brings home, and if I do it's often just a bit of sniffling for a few days.

I wouldn't take it personally, some people just aren't popular with bugs😊

Just had my 4th jab Autumn booster and no side effects at all at the moment. Hoping it stays that way.

Heppa filters catch 99.99% of stuff, so if they use those, they will be correct.

Yes but the air still has to go though the filter,  it's probably been round the cabin twice before it does. 😅

    Exactly, @Allotment Boy.
When global spread of rare viruses has been mapped, they always follow international air travel, where one victim spreads it to most of a plane load, who then disperse throughout the world.
