if rates of infection keep rising at current rates, hospitals will be full by mid December.
I have been saying this all year and, without exception, people have said "no, no, it will be fine" or "don't be so negative". I say "what detail of our trajectory thinks that it will be any different from previous covid years?" They shrug and say "let's hope for the best".

It occurs to me  that in the current financial situation , people might be less inclined to spend money to spend time in crowded places. I hope that that the queen 's funeral spectators will be protected by the fact that most of the gatherings were outside. The great and the good might not have been so fortunate.

It occurs to me that with a third of a million views and 850 pages, it's probably time for one of the regulars to start a new Corvid thread.

    Please no.
They've stolen my best apples and plums this year.
    No corvid thread!

    Seriously, I assume it's autocorrect?
My phone still can't accept 'Covid' and replaces it with 'Vivid'!
But some people do say Corvid I've noticed.

@Woodgreen When Paul started this thread it was typoed 'Corvid' for the first few weeks until he asked the mods to change the spelling.

'Corvid' has a certain metaphorical aptness.

I remember that now you both mention it!
Reading that first post by Paul B3 is quite poignant -- we had no idea what was to come.

    Made me smile Woodgreen.
I think you are right Fire, the virus does seem like a brooding menace.
