wow, who would have thought of that! (apart from anyone thinking about it) I worked in the field for years, with old people/disabled people, wearing a mask would have disabled communication with a lot of people. Many of my people were on the edge already
Ok, I can see that mandatory mask wearing in situations where elderly, confused or disabled people are damaged by the rule, needed urgent addressing. But did you read the comments below the article? I quote:
"I hate masks, the people that wear them..." "Me too. My feelings for those I see still wearing them veer between pity and contempt."
Good grief! What right has anyone to hate me for wearing a mask? Or for wearing anything else, come to that - a headscarf, or unfashionable clothes? What harm does my mask-wearing do to them? I might suspect I have Covid and not want to pass it on - or I might be severely immune compromised and be trying to protect myself. It has NOTHING to do with anyone else.
End of rant.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
My understanding is: a GP can achieve between 4-5 times more of these, than face to face, so as long as allocated appropriately, more people get what they need.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Just to say the receptionist at the doctors is obeying the rules set down by the practice. It’s part of her job to ask questions and to encourage phone consultations wherever possible because that’s what the doctors want. If you have a problem with it you should take it up with the practice manager or better still your GP.
Many people treat doctors as infallible Gods and everyone else who works in healthcare as idiots.
If you can’t get an appointment it’s not the fault of the receptionist.
If your medication has not been prescribed it’s not the fault of the pharmacy staff.
I wore a mask, sometimes 10 hours a day, for at least 20 years.
To be clear I don't have any particular views either way...I just passed on the link, primarily because I've previously questioned the efficacy of mask wearing, specifically in the absence of other measures to avoid transmission. There are rebuttals and transcripts at the bottom that I haven't read yet.

Indeed so..but I still won't be triaged by a non medical professional which in my own experience has seemingly become the norm.
@Chris-P-Bacon that’s entirely your choice but if you don’t like it complain to someone who can actually do something about it not a receptionist who has no power and has to be polite however rude customers are.
